Misc Failed Trolling Attempts -

I'm starting a general thread for various attempted weenery during the time I was communicating with Chris.

These first two selections happened sometime around January 27th, 2014 and were sent to "Rebeckah".

Chris never sent part 2 of the Satoshi Taijiri message, so the first part is all I can show.

Both of these attempts were foiled. I'll post more as I continue to dig through my archives.

Edit: I didn't bother to censor the fake Tiffany account because this was over a year ago and the account is probably long since gone.

It's actually sad. It's not even like they are picking creative characters, they are just stealing ideas from other trolls.

In all fairness, it's not like they have a choice, because Chris has mostly learned not to talk to strangers. Let's not forget that this whole latest round of leaks was built on recycling old characters from Chris's life.

That said, the Pokemon email *was* incredibly dumb.

He desperately wanted to believe the Tiffany one. The same person actually found out where Tiffany worked and sent Chris the information. I managed to convince Chris that this was just another setup (kinda like the trip to Ohio) designed to get him into trouble.

The disturbing thing though is that this email motivated Chris to start using those paid "people finder" services. He was desperate to make contact with the gal pals, especially Tiffany.

This was the impetus / inspiration for my gal pal communications (which yes, I now realize were ill conceived and I regret the part I played).

I think most of us have had low points in our lives where we've been more lonely than we'd like to admit. Even if it was just one sad, drunken, self-loathing night, I'd wager that a lot of people have facebook stalked ex-lovers or searched for friends they haven't seen in 15 years just to see if there was still some spark of compatibility and empathy to be found.

The difference between Chris and the rest of us is that we were looking for actual long lost friends. Not the hired help.

Bob might have meant well, but he really did a number on Chris's noodle with that little project.

I'm reminded of the Matt call. That was when we got ahold of some ween trying to call Chris, and we had Jack Thaddeus call him and pretend to be Chris. And somehow, he fell for it.

Or there was the time I drunk dialed some ween with a brilliant e-girlfriend idea. She called me back and left me this message:

I'll volunteer Josh Martinez. The whole PSP debacle ending with his parents discovering his thieving just sounds like an uninspiring satire come to life. For all that, it's pretty funny that this guy can fuck up something so simple and still get the last laugh on Chris.
