Could not find an appropriate thread for this, and thought it might be worth creating one both just to catalogue anything people might want to suggest about how the average kiwifarms nigger keeps themselves healthy in areas beyond what you eat or how much you run/lift/twerk the carbs away, especially given the coming new year and the inevitable mass attempts to escape the lard slicked hell most of us inhabit.

To start off allow me to icepill this thread and shill for something I have genuinely found to be of aid in starving off the siren call of the grave these past few weeks

COLD SHOWERS

While largely thought of as a cliche anti-cooming practice, cold showers have a good bit of science behind them from boosting everything from weight loss to your immune system to muscle recovery as well as being an extremely effective anti depressant and general mood improver, the latter examples having likely been why this practice was traditionally used to treat mental health issues

Speaking of my own experience, I will not comment on any increase in energy/fat burning/whatever due to how easy it is to fall into a placebo confirmation bias, but I have found that my general motivation to get shit done from exercise to work related shit to various personal projects I have has shot up through the roof....something I frankly attribute to the fact that after an early morning soak in ice cold water, unclogging the septic tank with my bare hands seems rather pleasant and comfortable by comparison.

Generally while its usually advised in various online guides to ease oneself into it by starting warm and steadily turning down the volume, I prefer to just fire up the showr at full blast at the coldest possible temperature, and immediately try to soak my head and neck and back in order to get the initial shock over and done with as fast as possible. After adapting its simply a matter of trying to get as much of your blubbery ass soaked in the water as possible....yes that includes your ballsack....and keeping your breathing deep and regular for about five minutes, at which point you can finish up and either jump out the shower and dry yourself off, or put the temperature up to hot and enjoy some warm relief.

Either way its cheap, zero risk, and fast, which is more than most the various "miracle cure routines" can say, which is why I am starting this thread with it. If anynigger else has a similar routine they would like to share feel free to shit it out here. It can be anything from footbaths to hydration to deep anal dilation...so long as it works for you and you think it could help your fellow kiwis out

I used to gargle with full strength hydrogen peroxide until my dentist told me that my teeth were "too smooth" which sound like a good thing but apparently isn't.

I've gone through various rituals over the years. Tough to get myself started on one, but once I've gotten in the grove it's tough for me to stop.

I walk 4-5 miles each weekday morning before breakfast.

I do a food diary listing everything eaten and drunk (except water). Been doing this many years now.

I try to heave a Havana as often as I can. Make sure I have a healthy colon.

Cold showers are definitely alpha. The moment that shit hits your head your body basically goes into overdrive. Great way to kick off the day.

In the winter I use a sun lamp (also called a "happy light") when I haven't spent a whole lot of time outside or there's been little sunlight due to weather. I place it on the lowest setting just on the edge of my FOV for about 20 minutes. Not worth trying to describe the effects since it could all be placebo, but it does help lift my mood.

I prefer cycle showers, they are great for post work outs and for skin over all.

One of the best easiest and free health tips, drink more water. Period. Just do it. I've always been a big water fan but a gallon a day is easy just do it. Flushing your system keeps weight down, junk out, clearer skin, and prevents bloat even. Go pour a glass right now.

No way am I voluntarily taking a cold shower. I work too hard to keep myself living in a house with hot water and indoor plumbing.

I am doing dry january, ostensibly in support of my dad who has managed to fuck his liver up. I'm literally counting the days but no DTs yet so I might manage it. No doubt february will turn into a squalid, degenerate bender.

I have started practicing good 'sleep hygene' and sticking to a routine lately and I have to admit it helps with insomnia and general anxiety. Just making the effort to change out of my work clothes when I get home helps me switch off. Keeping the bedroom tidy. Only getting into bed when it's time to sleep, not staying awake reading etc. All that sensible shit. Next step is to get a daylight lamp and take it into my windowless workspace.

Try shitting without your phone.

If you can’t stand the boredom, bring a small notebook instead and write about your goals, plan your day, put down your thoughts, etc.

Also, as idiotic as this sounds, it’s helped me to have a particular set of tupperwares to put my healthy lunches in. Every time I move them or clean them, I think about salad with chicken breast. Salad goes in the round black Tupperware. That’s just the way it is. The containers are tied to that in my mind.

That has helped me build the routine of preparing the night before and making sure I don’t have to grab an unhealthy fast substitute.
