$800 a month for utilities is a lie. Her house is poorly sealed and she heats it with multiple electric space heaters running in different rooms 24/7 until it's warm out which probably does run a few hundred in winter. Her natural gas would only cover a water heater and a gas stove, so it wouldn't be much at all. Water/Sewage in small towns can be a little expensive so maybe $100 a month for both.

No shit. That wall behind the fallen shelf is straight up wavy. The water damage is extremely severe - this is an interior wall with water damage to the point that the old plaster is completely swollen. There's definitely black mold behind it, and the wooden lath is bound to be rotted to nothing in most places. Where we can see framing - like at the door - it's detached from the wall structure entirely. That ceiling garbage is going to bury Misty one day soon, and I can't think of anyone more deserving.

Also the two earth quakes she mentions? Indiana has never had a major quake, I think the strongest one we've had in 20 years was a 3.5 and it was just a little rumble we barely felt, maybe knocked a loosely hung picture off a wall but even that is a stretch. I know there was a 5 back in the early 1900s but that was down south near a fault line.

I remember those doves. I recall them being in bathrooms, usually near perfumed decorative soaps shaped like sea shells that you weren’t supposed to actually use.

I recall them being like a really brittle, gritty, cheap ceramic. Like unfinished bisque. They were everywhere but particularly popular in homes of ladies over 50. I could have swore Avon sold them too...along with the decorative soaps.

And lets not forget that Hope House is a sober living and addiction recover ministry. These are not quality people Misty surrounds herself with. She's either been ordered into this program by the courts or talked her way into it by claiming to have recovered from her own addiction so she can "help" others. Hope House is not a regular church with regular services, they're all former junkies who will most likely all relapse at some point as is common with people who are legally forced into these programs.
