Class rings and keys (pendants) still get pushed by the companies and schools, it's just a thing everyone buys, wears half their Sr year, then tosses into a box to forget about later. They're such poor quality now too, can't even resize them and they're not solid gold or silver most of the time so they're completely worthless but people still do buy them because all the other students are getting one. Misty however just ordered this one from Walmart for $78, can be easily found with a quick search for "freestyle class ring" it's the second option, exact one. I'm sure Tricia can buy her own shitty Walmart jewelry if she wants one of those Misty.

It usually goes either one way or the other with pathological/habitual liars like Misty. Either they're the sort of person who is able to charm and snake their way in so everyone buys their bullshit, or they spend their days weaving such outlandish tales nobody could possibly believe a word they say. Unfortunately for Misty she's neither intelligent or charming which means nobody is buying it. Maybe a few of the former junkies she attends rehab service with, but not people with a decent head on their shoulders. My guess is that even most of the rehabbers know what she's all about.

Misty absolutely nobody is jealous of a Walmart ring that cost less than $100. The official class rings are sold by Josten's and cost around $300, the current style of class ring is a much more simple band without such a large stone. I wouldn't say it's wearable beyond high school though, absolutely nobody cares about class rings once they hit college and someone who continues to wear theirs is likely to get made fun of.
