Modding, level creation, &/or rom hacking thread - The Vidya equivelant to Autistic Arts and Crafts

Sorry if this thread already exists, just wondering if any Kiwis have ever dabbled with level editors for various games.

The biggest one for me is probably Doom, though I started by downloading some level editor for Super Mario Bros when I was 14.

In terms of modding, I have dabbled in modding music for games that use MP3 files. With Morrowind, I changed the death music to a man yelling fuck at one of his cats and the level up music to MATT DAMON from Team America. Tried to actually make a house mod in Oblivion but the construction set ended up crashing on me.

I was able to add custom radio songs in New Vegas. I'm slowly working my way up in Skyrim modding (enough to make books at least). I want to get in on this 3D modelling stuff too.

I've done a good bit with the Source SDK. Most of the tools are awful, CLI batch file nonsense and I've never gotten much more than an untextured physics model working right. I've probably spent more hours in Hammer than I have in Counter-Strike, though.

Played tons of wads I downloaded. Aliens TC is still great.

It's possible to make anything in Quake. Lol the Source code is released.

It would require significant use of QuakeC though. And a lot of work to make new models for things like the SOMEONG texture and so forth.

I've been looking into tinkering with the hacking tools for Fire Emblem Fates lately. Haven't really done much, though.

I dabbled in modding C&C: Tiberian Sun as a kid, as well as some level editing of RA2.
More recently I did some Super Mario World levels, and started some New Super Mario Bros. levels.

Also, how was he so autistic on Doom fora that they even knew how to fuck with him this way? Or was this a recent creation?

It was made over a year ago and most unfortunately, he never saw it. God knows he'd lose his shit if he did though.
