Anyone here into board games?

In an effort to spend some time off the computer (especially online gaming) I've been looking into some card and board games.

Android: Netrunner is just incredibly fascinating and imaginative. Related to MTG, but seems to be a better and more balanced game.

Dead of Winter is a masterpiece. Psychologically engaging, betrayal and accusation, powerful theme, and highly strategic. No two runs of this game feel alike.

Takenoko is taking things in a different direction. A lot more casual and fun, but still offers enough strategy to be appealing for any player.

Betrayal at House on the Hill is all the best 60s horror B- movies in a game. Explore a spooky mansion and then at some point one player has to become the traitor becomes the villain and tries to dick over everyone else. It's a great time.

I've heard fantastic things about this game. It was a very close contender with Dead of Winter. Both games offer horror and the fascinating 'find the betrayer' aspect. Never played Betrayal though. Got any advice for playing it or who to play it with, if I get it?

Yeah, same here. It alleviates a lot of the problems that CCGs face. There is no distinction made between card rarity or value. There are just different options, all that have their own pros and cons. Also there is a lot less of an urge to keep buying cards. Strategic diversity is high with this game and costs are (comparatively) low.

For two people Space Hulk is good if you can get a hold of it without paying crazy money. (If you can find a group of people into Games Workshop stuff Necromunda and Blood Bowl leagues are also good games that don't require too much investment compared to Warhammer Fantasy/40K (I have no idea about their new game that replaced Warhammer Fantasy ))

For some more casual games that don't require too much explaining for 3-4 people Ticket to Ride and Lords of Waterdeep are fun. (Both also have iOS versions if you have an iPad or iPhone and want to try them out)

Never played Betrayal though. Got any advice for playing it or who to play it with, if I get it?

I would say four players minimum try and be sober for the first few times it can be slightly complex. Get some baggies for tokens, there are lots of pieces for different scenarios.
