Unfortunately, mogai-archive nonsense has been preserved on other parts of the internet. The nonbinary.org wiki (which used to be an ok resource and focus on the more "mainstream" identities like agender and genderfluid and etc.) has been edited by some tucute so that it includes nounself pronouns and a lot of the mogai archive genders on the pages of the more widely-accepted genders.

Umm... isn't any gender that's not "boy" or "girl" a non-binary gender by definition? Vade's argument makes zero sense, unless they were telling that person that they're being ""transphobic"" by implying that all non-binary people must call themselves just "non-binary", and not more specific terms (which the person Vade was arguing with probably wasn't doing, as they said "boy/girl/nb/etc."). Regardless, "snarlgender" , and a good chunk of the other "genders" on Mogai-archive aren't even really genders, as they described how one felt about their gender and not how their gender actually manifests.

Even as someone in the LGBT community I still don't understand all these new genders. Trans is definitely real and has evidence in biology, not denying that, but demiboy? Genderfluid? Zim/zir/zirself, ect...
I don't understand the biology/science behind it. I guess I can understand not feeling like you're any gender (agender), but I feel like most of these new tumblr made pronouns and stuff are just "cis" people not wanting that label so they're jumping on the trans train...because I only see this stuff in the tumblr community.

I personally don't have issue with pronouns like ze/zir or ey/em because at least they sound like pronouns, and they/them can be unclear in some contexts. But the "sproutself" stuff is taking it too far.

Pretty much this. I have several genderfluid friends, and it definitely seems to be like..."there are days where I'm 100% comfortable with, and identify with, my assigned gender at birth, and then there are days when I don't identify with it at all and feel dysphoric as hell," essentially? And I can kinda understand demiboy/demigirl too (my understanding is that it's basically "I'm not exactly (gender), but (gender) is pretty much the closest equivalent I can think of," but I might be wrong). Same with agender.

Honestly, I've no issue with nonbinary gender identities themselves, or even most NB people. Pretty much every NB person I've actually been friends with has felt some degree of dysphoria (ranging from "I feel disconnected from my assigned gender" to "I literally cannot look at my genitals without wanting to puke"), and I've got no reason to doubt their experiences.

Pronouns...the singular "they" is probably the simplest, but there are several others (ey/em, xe/xyr, ze/zir, sie/hir, etc.) that do have legitimate history to them (with some, according to what I've read, dating back to the 1970s--pretty far back for this sorta thing), and I'm fine with those.

Nounself pronouns and cutesy made-up genders are just fucking stupid, though.

Anyway, here's a post I made mocking the whole mogai-archive thing on another forum I go to. The sad thing is that I'm pretty sure that if mogai-archive still existed, they'd probably accept them and post them.

But if your "identity" is based around the fact that you're a cis female who likes boy stuff so you obviously must be trans, your identity is based around gender stereotypes which means I will invalidate it forever, too fucking bad.

These people think that in order to be cis you have to act like celebrities on TV and you must fit a perfect mold of "what it means to be female/male". I feel like they get no exposure to anything else and thus think that any behavior outside of stereotypes means that they aren't cis. It's such backwards thinking for a group on a website that claims to be so progressive about gender.

Why are so many of Tumblr's made-up genders/orientations openly unhealthy? (Besides "dumb kids," I guess.) Changing major facets of your personality upon entering a relationship is pretty fucked up, and the second one even admits that this "orientation" is asking for bad shit to go down.
