Lemoine is an "expert" that went totally ignored by the judge and was primarily notable for being an unethical, sleazy piece of shit, all of this while having lung-aids.
It is really notable how all of MoRon's lawyers were a lot weirder than the counsel of ALL other parties.
I wonder if Lungmoine told them that the appeals are a sure thing, or if they are just blustering around, because they are by far the most likely party to come back on appeal.

Their confidence comes not only from their own lawyer but the hundreds of "lawyers" on twitter who assure that everything they say and do is absolutely 100% true. The saintly metoo, believeallwahmens, sjw, woke crowd is always assured that everything they do is justice and correct, and are never wrong. I want to believe appeals will go good, but you never know unfortunately.

It may sound retarded the thousandth time you hear it, but that's really about the only objection you can make to most questions in a deposition. Other than a privilege claim, like attorney/client, the scope of deposition questions is nearly without limit. They don't even have to be relevant, just "likely to lead to relevant information," to cite the federal standard. And even ostensibly "relevant" answers need not be admissible at trial.

There are also some limitations as to supposedly being prohibited from using a deposition for pure harassment, to insult the witness, going completely far afield trying to get scandalous information about the witness, etc. but anyone who challenges this and refuses to answer questions who loses the discovery dispute is generally assessed the attorney fees for the other side.

This is a very strong way of encouraging the parties to a suit to handle their discovery disputes between themselves, because if you drag the judge into it, you're going to have a pissed off judge involved, and whoever loses is probably going to pay for the whole mess.

So you have these objections to form more or less to have them on the record.

I'll give as an example of things going "Texas style" in this case the moment when Ty opened up Ron's deposition with "Are you a pedophile?" In front of a jury, that would be immediately followed by the other side going all Phoenix Wright and leaping up to object, followed by the judicial equivalent of "what the FUCK do you think you're doing?"

But in a deposition, very little short of actually initiating a fistfight is going to get you into much trouble.
