Wouldn't rocks be considered 'conventional' weaponry?by the way if anyone is unaware, Wu's schizophrenic fears of space war hasn't been an issue since the 60s

Wouldn't rocks be considered 'conventional' weaponry?
That's basically how they justify the "Rods from God" thing. They don't have a payload or unnatural acceleration so they technically don't violate the treaty. Technically.Wouldn't rocks be considered 'conventional' weaponry?
Trouble is that that doesn't explain why going to and from the moon is so expensive and difficult. Unless you got someone reputable that people would understand are vastly smarter than Brianna Wu to state a fact without explanation, our testimony is no better than hers. From an uneducated layperson's perspective, dropping rocks off the moon does make sense. If you came along and told them that it simply doesn't work, they wouldn't be convinced. You don't have to go into it in depth. Getting stuff onto and off of the moon is really complicated and expensive; firing a big-ass nuke from one part of earth to another is comparatively easy and cheap.

"Don't vote for lunacy. Vote Lynch."
Someone good with Photoshop could mix Wu's face with this:

I'm trying to think of ways to explain why the moon rock thing is bullshit in a way that ordinary people can understand. Maybe just say such a thing would require rockets that don't currently exist?
And I'm so glad that the astrophysics PhDs , military engineers and geopolitical experts who post here have convinced me otherwise. From an uneducated layperson's perspective, dropping rocks off the moon does make sense. "Brianna Wu is more concerned about moonrocks than she is with actual issues. Vote for a down to Earth candidate. Vote Lynch for Congress".
The attack ads practically write themselves.

How concerned should we be right now? Is anyone doing anything about this?
