Today youtube teamed up with The International Rescue Committee (IRC) to release a video entitled #MoreThanARefugee. It's your usual 'See, they like music and their kids – they're just like us' charity schlock. Bit manipulative by mainly using women but fairly inoffensive in and of itself

But of course it being the CURRENT YEAR of global unrest, Trump, weekly terror attacks etc. it didn't go down so well.

/pol/ got involved pretty early on from what I can tell

so there's loads of (((comments))) and other KEKery

Youtube/whoever is running that channel keeps deleting comments. One top rated comment was already gone when I stumbled across the video so this was the one at the time

It's gone now.

Not too many SJWs yet, but I'm sure they'll turn up in droves soon.

"Racist and false," eh? I'd like to see one of those guys show conclusive proof against the amount of purely economic refugees, or against the fact that some European nations clearly favor refugees more than their own people. On a related not, the #WorldRefugeeDay tag on Twitter (which I'm assuming is why YouTube published that video) is quite amusing as well. Nothing particularly exceptional, just a lot of "oh poor refugees, don't have nowhere to go." :(

I don't dislike the idea of World Refugee Day on principle, especially since I do believe that refugees have caused good in some areas and some ways. Possibly even a lot.

I'm just not keen on the whole mentality of "All refugees are perfect little angels who are incapable of doing any wrong, so you must let them in." Ironically, it makes them treated less as humans and more like pets, and it makes the virtue signalers look as bad as those terrible racists they hate so much.

SJWs, being mostly rich white faggots suffering from cracker guilt, make absolutely every minority a pet cause that they mentally, emotionally, and economically manipulate to keep them subservient to their thoughts and desires. No surprise that a lot of Hispanics and black people voted for Trump back in November (besides other factors ofc, such as the still-ongoing epidemic of thug culture in both communities and the highly Catholic nature of the Hispanic population, especially Mexicans)

I'd like someone to make a counter point video, showing off how "nice" and "friendly" these refugees actually are, and how they treat the countries that house them for being "misunderstood people". Sometimes sure, there are some good people coming, but its heavily outnumbered by the obvious dangerous ones who want to take advantage of being let in to do what they want to do and bully the people that live there. Makes me sick.

They're not 'more than a refugee', they are refugees. This affords them certain rights and also subjects them to certain restrictions. They are people too, of course, but refugees aren't some minority to be protected, it is a status which is inherently disadvantageous.
Personally I believe taking in refugees and providing them with safer places to live is a noble cause, but while these people do deserve to be protected, they should also remain within the boundaries set by the countries letting them in. This is one of the biggest issues with being selfless in this manner (ignoring the obvious political brownie points it'd get you, it's a fairly selfless act) - some people are just total asshats.

Way more manipulative than that. Refugees, especially young adults, are more likely to be radicalized and commit terror attacks. There's a reason why Sweden had to close its borders.
Source? I heard refugees are statistically less likely to commit crimes. Besides, being an immigrant makes everyone act like you're about to Akbar, so their kill count won't exceed twenty or so.

Well Boston marathon bombing,t he latest kebabery in Manchester and London and all of the French stuff since 2014 have been actual refugees, so I'd say that it stands to reason

Remember that the news focuses on these attacks more often. Every week, more people die in car accidents than the combined kill count of all of those attacks you mentioned.

If you wanna convince your fellow countrymen to let them in, you probably shouldn't ignore and guilt trip them when they bring up good reasons as to why they're worried. You can pretend like only racist xenophobes have concerns about who they let in their homes, but you can't pretend terrorist attacks don't seem to happen every other week.
