Mark E Smith died youngish of alcohol poisoning, had the vast majority of his many bandmates in fear, and the one who called him out got punched out for his troubles.
Morrissey pisses off soyboys whenever he talks and is willing to slam Islam even if it's just because of animal rights stuff.
Quite the conundrum...
Morrissey is the only big musician in the UK that I can think of that goes against the status quo right at the moment, don't see any other band getting their advertising posters getting banned.
His fans tend to be sensible too. Even if they disagree with his views they'll still buy his albums.
Oh I don't know John Lydon (johnny rotten) I would say is the same.
Though I don't always agree with either I can respect that they speak their voice and don't give a fuck what people think about what they say.

They should just be England again. Get rid of wales, scotland, northern ireland. You can keep devon and cornwall though.

I never really liked the Smiths and assumed Morrissey was a typical commie faggot and hearing him quoted saying stuff like this cause extreme cognitive dissonance.
On the other hand I suppose it's even worse for his fans who I'm pretty sure were mostly leftists.
And the interesting thing is his political views seem to be just as based on emotion as they were in the 'Meat is murder' days. For Britain has less support than UKIP. I like Farage, distrust the establishment parties and The Brexit Party is polling well, but the odds are still that Boris will deliver Brexit and TBP will disappear. I.e. the odds of TBP in power and Farage as PM are still pretty low. Not zero though.

It's weird because he fucking hates Trump and was a Bernie supporter. Guess it just goes to show the dissonance between the left-right spectrum in Europe and America.
He's a weirdo basically. If he says something sensible and you start to think he's on your side a quick Google search will show that it is only on one issue and probably purely by chance that the chaos in his mind produced a correct answer.
Many people will be truly disappointed.
