Massive super huge powerleveling but here goes because it STILL pisses me off

I had a major bust up with these cunts. My kid is in her early teens, started using social media, so I did a Google search of her name to check the paper trail and make sure she wasn't acting like a lolcow. Only one thing popped up: a mothering forum post asking posters what the strangest children's name they've heard is. A very active post with mothers bitching about random children's names, the same holier than thou cunts who try to outdo one another by tit feeding their 10 year olds. Well, my kids name was mentioned (it's a unique 1920's name), with her surname, even stating which school my kid was in at the time. Then three pages of them debating how she'll grow up to be a stripper and a whore, she'll be on drugs by 10, she'll be raped, I should be shot. It was fucking savage.

I messaged a moderator asking them to remove the comments because seriously...first thing that pops up on Google, not pleasant if she finds it, plus it had her school attached. The moderator basically told me it's my fault for choosing her name and to not take it seriously. It's just women having a bit of fun, all mothers together. Much fun, such wow. Lots of rape.

It got taken down by the school who had lawyers intervene.

Anyway, sorry again for the :powerlevel::powerlevel::powerlevel::powerlevel::powerlevel::powerlevel: and sperging. I just hate these self righteous cunts.

A couple of the ideas are decent - such as elimination communication or an healthy amount of breastfeeding. Sane parents can do these without fucking up their children, but the mommies of that forum give both of these practices a bad name by letting their kids shit or demand a tit in public. Good parenting includes making sure that others don't cringe at what you or your crotch droppings do out in public and anyone who thinks their kid is a speshul snowflake and should be given immunity to scorn needs to be spayed and neutered right away.

I know this isn't 100% related to the forum, but Mothering magazine is known for promoting HIV/AIDS denialism, and it wouldn't surprise me if that carries over to the userbase.

Science-Based Medicine did a nifty little write-up that mentions the magazine's spouting of dangerous pseudoscience.
Indeed, she even appeared on the cover of Mothering Magazine sporting her pregnant belly with the word AZT in a circle with a slash through it and the headline HIV+ Moms Say NO to AIDS Drugs. The issue featured Maggiore in an article entitled Safe and Sound Underground: HIV-Positive Women Birthing Outside the System and included other articles about AIDS, such as Molecular Miscarriage: Is the HIV Theory a Tragic Mistake? and AZT in Babies- Terrible Risk, Zero Benefit. (Mothering Magazine’s promotion of HIV/AIDS denialism and antivaccine misinformation may well make a topic for a future post in and of itself. Suffice it to say that Christine Maggiore was very much into “alternative medicine” and refused to vaccinate her children, making Mothering, which is well-known for its promotion of antivaccine views, the perfect venue for her.)

The saddest part of the story is that both the mother whose story appeared in the article and her daughter went on to die of AIDS.

Oh fuck. AIDS denial is one piece of woo I'd hoped was too nuts even for this sort, but alas.

On a sadder note, AIDS denial has led to all manner of horrific things, such as certain people in South Africa believing you can cure AIDS by raping a virgin. It's not a harmless fringe viewpoint.

No one makes see red like that dumb cunt Christine Maggiore, the idiot that kept sticking his dick in her to get her pregnant and the adults around Eliza Jane (the daughter) who knew something was not right with the child and did nothing.

Not only did Maggiore refuse pre-natal care that would have stopped the transmission of the disease to her children, she breast fed them and never had them tested. Of course she was anti-vac.

Eliza Jane suffered terribly from undiagnosed AIDS... ALL of her short life, her autopsy showed her brain was actually damaged by it and she was aware enough to have felt all of that on top of other horrible physical symptoms.
Including her lungs being infested with fungus, that eats away and leads to a slow asphyxiation.

She had advanced AIDS at the age of barely 4 years old.

Her mother took her to some quack that diagnosed her with an ear infection and gave her amoxicillin.
Them and their supporters clung to the bullshit that the poor kid died from a reaction to the amoxicillin.

It's a travesty that Maggiore and her husband were not tossed into jail.

She's dead from the very disease she tried to deny so at least that's some kind of karmatic justice.

I've never known anyone who has sex in front of their kid. I personally would be turned off sex if a kid was in the room, especially if it was my kid. I know a girl who does co-sleep with her kid with her boyfriend, and they actually don't have sex at all. Not that they had sex much anyways, but the baby just killed most of their sex drive.
What about street walkers who take their children to work? Yeah I've seen that. Seen hookers standing on the street corner holding their kids hand while they talk to clients during my visits to South America.

The Only kid i've ever knew that co-slept is my relative and had severe night terrors and would end up hurting herself by falling off the bed if left alone and her mother used it as an excuse to avoid sharing a bed with the alcoholic father.

Thats the only time i've ever seen someone sleep with their kid and she was very ashamed of it.

The unschooling forums there are pretty bad. I felt this thread was especially egregious, but honestly they all make me sad, since unschooling is way more likely to have adverse affects than breastfeeding till you're 4 or whatever.

With regards to co-sleeping, I'd imagine a lot of the problems are because
1) Americans are fat, and
2) American beds tend to be really soft with lots of loose sheets and comforters and pillows. It's not recommended to have loose bedding in a crib because of the risk of suffocation and I'm sure it's worse for an adult bed. Japan has a much higher rate of co-sleeping than other developed countries, and I wonder if this is partly because futons are flat against the ground, so it's less dangerous.

Sleeping on a firm mattress certainly needs to be encouraged.

I used to read Horrible Histories as a kid, and the book on the Victorian era listed one of the major reasons for infant mortality as parents rolling on top of babies as they slept and smothering them.

I understand the reasoning behind co-sleeping but anyone practicing it is seriously endangering their child's health.

Ahh, these women!
I call them "crazy milkers" because they'll pressure you into breastfeeding even if your kid is loosing weight, and to them a c-sec is the Hitler of medical interventions.

I used to believe their shit until I realized it wasn't helping my child, my marriage or my economy.

I'm glad someone is finally considering the economy before carelessly posting on a message board. Thank you.

A lot of this shit is similar in that it was widely practiced before people knew any better.

Like the idea that a "Gentleman's hands are always clean" so doctors don't need to wash in between amputating a gangrenous limb and delivering a baby.

Most of their new age practices are horribly expensive, plus their insistence of never leaving their kids alone and being unnemployed.

Also they think giving water to your dehydrated kid will kill them or something, and that no matter how poor your diet is your body will magically produce perfect milk for your newborn/adolescent child
