Why is the translation bad? But still lol at mothers basement running like a gimp to defend master crunchyroll
Used slang and words/sentences that don't fit the character and are currently outdated. In a few months, anyone rewatching will cringe from poor quality subtitles. Translators are payed to translate a story not rewrite into another language. So far, every episode of Nagatoro has had some poor translation (the first used the word "sus" a reference to among us instead of suspicious which is what the native language spoke, the second used "senpai a scrub" instead of "senpai you suck", the third said: "By turning it into slapstick, you can turn a diss into a derp"). While it may seem minor, fans of the manga (like myself) feel it is a disservice to the author and what could be a great anime. It doesn't fit the theme or setting and feels off-putting.

Geoff defends it for two reasons: Firstly, its a Crunchyroll sub (Crunchyroll also has a monopoly so all future subs in english will have their grips upon it), so he must defend his masters. Secondly, the current Crunchyroll staff is extremely left-leaning so Geoff will defend it for political reasons. Regardless that some fans will be turned off on buying "official" Blue-rays to support the show, Geoff cares more about his masters then the original animators in Japan, as supporting Cruncyroll outweighs the negatives of supporting the critics.

Oh jesus, that sounds cringe as fuck. I can see why fans of the series might hate the translation.

No one asks for crunchy roll or funimation.
I would sooner allow 25 random users from this site to run a train on me than finance or even pirate either one.

EDIT: Just watched the new episode, realized whose subs they were. Someone generate 25 names at random from the user list so I can make preparations for that train.

It feels like the subbers for this show are trying to make Nagatoro sound like an annoying zoomer teenager (which she is), but they are going maximum tryhard. This is coming from someone who isn't triggered by the sus stuff.

Diss into a derp is fucking stupid though.
It's just sad to see "Hello fellow kids" reddit tier memes from a bunch of woke retards.
I wish there was more people who truly did fansubs rather than a bunch of different groups that just rip shit off of VRV.

The sus thing is cringe (even if sus is just short for an actual word) but people have been calling others scrubs for years in online games.

If you are watching an anime like nagatoro then seeing them drop the word scrub in the subs should not be this big of a deal.
