So I'm trying to get back into the game, but always felt like I was doing it wrong or the game felt clunky. What's a good way to start and what are the essential mods for Warband?

Well, the game is a bit clunky, what parts give you trouble? Do you have problems putting together a sizeable army and sustaining it or are you unsatisfied with how battles turn out?

Bannerlord is the only thing keeping the Turkish government in power. They’re holding bannerlord hostage to keep their positions secure. If word got out that bannerlord got axed and the tale worlds staff imprisoned for sodomy or whatever there just might be an effort to retake Constantinople.

All they have to do to get the metal sanctions lifted is release Bannerlord.

I really want to like Mount & Blade, but yeah, it is unapologetically unintuitive, ponderous and vague.

Seems straight forward to me, but I’ve been playing for an insanely long time. I think the only game I’ve played “regularly” for longer is Dwarf Fortress.

It’s pretty easy to git gud at Mountain Blade, at least against the AI. Multiplayer has a high barrier to entry, since we’ve all been playing for so long.

If you’re just starting out, just focus on trading and farming roving bandits. Pick up companions that compliment want you want your character to be and keep upkeep low. There’s no “story”, though, so just do what seems right.

I'm surprised there hasn't been a thread made about our favorite kebab-made gaming series Mount and Blade. With the announcement (finally) being made about Bannerlord's early access I'm in a harvesting season kind of mood. I'm curious as to what modes and mods that everyone here plays, I'm pretty fond of Prophecy of Pendor and Napoleonic Wars myself.

I started playing this game maybe six months ago, and I fucking love it. The modding community is absolutely incredible

edit: My absolute favorite mod is Gekokujo, but I started Pendor and it seems really well thought out, if a bit difficult at the start

Persistent World was a great mod to play with friends, me and an old buddy of mine found a glitch where you can basically head to the gold mines without having to use a boat so we would get on the servers at odd times when the servers were empty and stock up on gold and forge them into expensive items, we became millionaires overnight.

Persistent Frontier was another mod just like World but set in the colonial times in the 13 colonies, I joined a group called the Fez Brigade where people dressed up as Turkish Janissaries and would move in formation and attack using line battle strategies, we would go into the wilderness and attack Native American factions and bandits and eventually go and steamrolled all the other factions.

I actually played the first version of this game back when there was only two factions and the scariest thing on the map was roaming bands of black knights. Good times! Satisfying to see a good game and series become better over time rather than worse.

I haven't played in forever. Might have to load it up. I can't even remember any of the mods but I do remember mastering horseback archery. I could ride full speed and pop off headshots. Many faces were rocked on the battlefield.
