Movie & TV Show Recommendations -

Zero Gun: Fenrir

As stated above, Archer is really funny (Godammit, Archer!) I would recommend Numb3rs, if you're into CSI-esque shows. Breaking Bad is an excellent show, and the Chemistry teacher is a fuckin' badass! As for movies, I don't think I've watched anything recently that would be of interest to you (unless you want to watch Brokeback Mountain, which is an excellent movie, but probably not what you're looking for.) If you're looking for excellent animes that have great english dubs, I would suggest Cowboy Bebop (Space Western, but you'd have to track down a boxed set, or watch Toonami on Cartoon Network,) and Samurai Champloo (which is the spiritual Successor to Cowboy Bebop, and I guess is similar to a western set in feudal Japan.) I could also suggest Last Exile which is a steampunk anime that focuses on flying things that go pew, pew, pew. I can't really think of anything else off of the top of my head, but the animes, and the TV shows I would certainly suggest, as for the movie, you can watch it if you want, or not, but it's still excellent, and almost made me cry (and I'm of the male persuasion.)

Borgia (Faith and Fear) is quite good if you like history. The first two seasons are available on Netflix, and season 3 is in production now. John Doman plays an excellent Rodrigo Borgia/Pope Alexander VI.

My favorites:

Who Framed Roger Rabbit-Kinda obvious.

A Christmas Story-I love it.

The Running Man-One of Ahnold's better early work.

Rifftrax reviews of movies I like:

The Room-Kinda obvious.

Reefer Madness-Horrible film, genius riff.

Shows I suggest:

Red Dwarf-Genius parody of sci-fi in general.

MST3K-Perfect show and-some say- The beginning of trolling.

I was browsing on Netflix a month or so ago and found a cartoon called Wild Kratts. The animation style reminded me of Dan Vs. (one of my favorites; it's on the Hub, but I honestly think it's geared more towards adults), so I put it in my queue. Welp, today I decided to get some drawing done, needed some background noise, so I put on an episode.

It took me two hours to finish a simple inking because I was more interested in watching the show. It's actually educational and fun. And the hosts have robotic suits that are created through animals' DNA. Younger MKB would have eaten that stuff right up had this show been around during her youth.

Doctor Who, especially any Patrick Troughton or Jon Pertwee you can find.

Kamen Rider W, Fourze, Kuuga or Ryuki. Each one does things their own way, W is slapstick, Foruze even moreso. Kuuga goes semi-realistic with it's setting, police aren't idiots in it. And Ryuki is like Power Rangers meet Highlander. Note: These are my favorites.

Daria. If you ever need a reminder high school wasn't that swell.

American Restoration. I love their work. I like things from the 50's and joke this show is like porn for me.

Kamen Rider Black--one of the best Kamen Rider series.

I'm currently in the middle of Kuuga--I like how they deal with it realistically, and I love the protagonist himself---he's so positive and has this great smile. There was some angst with original Kamen Riders, and it's nice to see a balance with it.

I also like Den-O. It has a great balance of slapstick and drama. It can be funny when it needs to be, and when it's funny, it's funny. The Imagin (the good ones) are hilarious, but three-dimensional despite the fact they are grown men in rubber suits.

And often times, it can be really sad--towards the end especially.

Den-O is good. I'm about a quarter way through it.

I'm over halfway through Kuuga. I love how the police aren't a joke in this series (sure, they get killed like flies, but these are damn strong monsters and the police are adapting), how the public is fearful of the monster attacks, how freakin' alien the monsters are (love them having their own language without subtitles. Never know what they are thinking) and Godai (my favorite rider ever). The weak points are the CGI explosions and the monster suits.

But man, I have trouble believing Kuuga was made for kids. It's not gory, but with monsters that kill as a game (even children are shown dead) without lighthearted elements used in later shows, I'm sure Kuuga gave plenty of kids nightmares. The only series that can compare is Faiz, but that didn't have the realistic elements Kuuga has. Agito is Kuuga-lite, in my opinion.

I just watched an episode of Earthworm Jim and I can definetly recommend it to anyone who liked "The Tick" or "Freakazoid!" Or, hell, anyone who likes wackiness in general.

Watched "Tower Heist" tonight. It was better than I thought it would be. Gibourney Sidbe, Eddie Murphy, and Matthew Broderick were good in it. I hated the fbi agent flirting with Ben Stiller's character the whole time though, and I couldn't stand the other forgettable guys that were involved in the sting.

I guess some stuff I like that I've seen recently:

-Paprika: It's pretty much if Incoption was an anime.
-Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: Probably the weakest movie on my list, but it's insanely quotable and I made a Sonichu fic with characters that are expies of Raoul Duke and Dr. Gonzo. I was very, very drunk when that idea came to me. *yawn*
-The Big Lebowski: I usually don't watch movies more than twice, but when I do, it's usually because they're hilarious. Also, I would look like "The Dude" if I grew my hair out and grew a goatee.
-Blazing Saddles: It's got the perfect scene to troll bronies with. Just type in "Mongo".
-Persepolis: My new roommate has a Persian background and she got me to watch it with her. Plus, I've kind of been on a sperg binge over Iran lately.
-The King's Speech: I had a lot of trouble speaking as a kid. So, this movie connected with me on a personal level. Plus, every Oscar nomination was well deserved in this movie.

I got a free two week trial of hulu plus and I've been ODing on old SNL's from the 80s and early 90s because I loved watching them on comedy central when I was a teenager. I finished watching the Sinbad one from 1992. Everybody forgot about ol Sinbad :(
