It should suprise me, but it doesn't. From a Brit POV the 'right to bear arms' was a genius move by the founding fathers.

If America lost the war of independence, either then or 10 years down the line, or the government was over-thrown by Brits/French whomever, then it wouldn't matter. Killing the army is one thing, good luck killing an entire nation of armed insurgents who know the streets, towns and countryside better than anyone.

Amazing hindsight by those guys as well, because Afghanistan and Vietnam are undefeated because of guerrilla tactics.

So yeah, any invading army would have to have the compliance of every disarmed citizen before it could even think of raising its' flag.

First we had the boomer mass shooter in Las Vegas with connections to the Philippines and now we have another one. How are these boomers being radicalized to commit mass murder in the Philippines? It would be nice if there was more insight into what this "terrorist literature" was, were he got it, and how the authorities knew what it was.

Philipines has (iirc) the largest muslim population. It makes sense to swap the sandy-shit hole terrorist training camps with ones in a tropical paradise.

You are thinking of Indonesia, however the Philippines does have a Muslim minority and has had problems with an ISIS insurgency in recent years. However, if this guy was in communication with ISIS in 2016 then that means ISIS had quickly changed their approach to white Americans from capturing and beheading them to giving them books and sending them on their way. It seems strange but I doubt there will be any followup info about this, just like Las Vegas.

It just seems strange that many ISIS videos are of them mass murdering Muslim "apostates" who seemingly were non-combatants wearing plain clothes with no weapons. Then they have this sudden change of heart for, of all people, an American with no known affiliation with Islam that is being reported on at all.

Yes, perhaps he converted to Islam privately years ago or by some other means convinced ISIS in the Philippines that he would be a good soldier. That would be the best speculation on where his "terrorist literature" came from because if not ISIS or another Islamic insurgency group, then who and what could it possibly have been about?
