so I found this super OTT spoonie. Not sure if she’s faking entirely but she is definitely exaggerating. And grifting for donations. Constantly talking like she is going to die tomorrow even though she also has said it will probably be 10-15 years before she dies? Wears an eyepatch bc of double vision but has a ridiculous explanation for it. Posts extremely uncomfortable videos of her dog licking her...

I believe palliative care said no narcotics to someone with a projected timeline of 10+ years. Why would you want to mess up her tolerance for when she really needs it?

"Pleasant" is weird because it's usually used as shorthand for prosocial behavior and A&Ox4. That's fine. It also shows up as a snide commentary in charts for patients who are complete assholes. I don't know why people can't agree on how to use it. Might just be the area I work in.

Best warning for a patient who is going to be a handful is always the mysterious haloperidol allergy though.

I think this boils down to what area you work in for sure. In hospital/EMS that seems to be how it's used. In clinic charts from my experience with seeing them it's just a throwaway word they give to literally everyone who isn't actively insulting them in that moment.

@last_bumble Someone else that knew AJ IRL posted screenshots in the munchhunchbunch group chat that Aj's late husband shows a relationship with the new woman effective July 2019 and you are correct that would be less than 2 months after AJ death. So theres no right or wrong time to be in a relationship after spouses death but their relationship status on their social medias is rather quick for less than 2 months after her death. He seemed to be working a rather large increase of more hours those last 6 months before her death and had fewer appearances in vlogs. When he was in vlogs his facial expressions eye rolls and commentary in videos portrayed someone very skeptical and increasingly fed up IMO if you go back thru vlogs. I think its a strong possibility Judd was seeing this new girl before AJ died. Screenshots shared show this woman also heavily interacted with husband and his family before and after AJ death it's noted they possibly worked together in the military or maybe at the sheriffs office? I really should go watch AJ's funeral to see if I spot this woman at the service or if I see her in a THE RAW LIFE crossover at that carwash vlog after her death. AJ and Judd were pretty religious on both sides of the family....he prob totally felt trapped due to a stigma around separation and divorce in their faith. It would also look really bad if he left such a sick disabled spouse, or another in the chat stated how bad it would look dumping her off his insurance since she was not employed and had already possibly aged off her parents insurance? The reasoning is that in the proposal video after her feeding tube surgery he made commentary "you really didn't leave me a choice" when she said "awwww you proposed to me in the hospital" it sounds like the rush might have been due to insurance lapse or issues? Its tragic she died but relieved for Judd. He radiates genuine happiness and looks incredibly happy now. No doubt he probably grieves AJ but that man is a god damn fucking saint for everything he did emotionally and financially over Ajs social media tirade and resultant demise. The new girlfriend's name and fb link was posted to KF sometime late 2019. She appeared to have kept her social media locked down since.

Update on eyepatch girl, sans eye patch. Wants to die via not eatting says it will be too painful. Called and ambulance gotten taken to different ER for her fix. Mad they won't admit her.

Did you fake it or did you make yourself sick via meds/self harm/whatever?

What exactly is the endgame here? Infinite sympathy, asspats, donations, e-fame?

I was a fairly subtle munchie, not nearly as bold as some of the girls on here, so it was easier to stop doing it. I munched my way into a minor surgery as a child, but the rest has been vague exaggerated flu and fatigue days here and there. I can't comment on the online aspect because I never went in for the big following and drama, but I did talk to friends about it and receiving sympathy from them was the aim, so I'd imagine the draw is from all the nice supportive comments first, and fame and/or donations come later as they realise they can get away with it.

It was addressed because I had therapy for something unrelated and it came up as part of that, which is why I now have a better understanding of why I did it. I still have compulsions - if an opportunity comes up to 'be sick', my mind plays on it a lot, and I have to remind myself that I don't have to do those things to elicit care any more.

Sometimes I would outright fake, but mostly I would exaggerate something that was already there. A mild cold became the flu, or a vague ache became much more painful. If the opportunity came up, or I was feeling particularly unstable, I'd do things to introduce germs, like rubbing coins on the back of my tongue. I drank a small amount of bathroom cleaner once, to see what that would do. Ironically, I'm pretty healthy with a robust immune system, so it didn't often work.

To give you a better idea of the mindset, one example is that I've often daydreamed about having an accident and ending up as an amputee, or blind, or with a similar highly-visible disability, because not only would it provide sympathy and care from others but it would also be something to overcome and succeed at. You see it with all the munchies being 'brave and inspiring' by hiking or whatever with all their tubes - they have a very visible difficulty that means nobody is going to ask very much of them, but that will produce admiration and praise when they do something despite their big serious handicap.

You mentioned self harm, so I wanted to add that I imagine that's a similar motivation, but munching is sneakier because of the stigma that comes with deliberately hurting yourself. You want the attention, but you don't want anyone to know that you want the attention. With Kelly, for example, if she has Behcet's, she's just a poor sick girl with the bad luck to have such a devastating disease, feel bad for her, etc. When people realise she's inflicting the wounds on herself, the sympathy often evaporates, because it's your own fault that you're suffering this way. It's no longer 'noble'.

Had a rather obnoxious middle aged munchie advertised to me on Instagram.

This is Julie Seal/the_chronicoptimist on Instagram. Not sure if any of you have encountered her but her Instagram is full of pictures like this. She claims to have chronic Lyme disease (which is just a catch-all term for various illnesses completely unrelated to Lyme iirc), and is too sick to walk a lot of the time, yet had her first baby in her early 40s (way to go, munchie, increasing the risk that your child will be born with actual illnesses) and is currently trying to pop another one out less than a year later. Recently she got into a fight with someone for claiming lots of cases of dementia are actually “chronic Lyme” despite them having no link whatsoever.

(ETA: She also claims to have the classic munchie hallmarks, EDS and POTS, how fantastic.)

She has a habit of borrowing her friend’s children for photos, well up until last year when she had her own baby. I just hope she doesn’t go full Munchausen by proxy on the poor child, and the one she’s currently trying to hatch.
