"Better Dead than Red" was the worst catchphrase ever.Dear Monolith. Remember the saying "better dead than red". You do not need a helicopter, just use your weapon of choice. Make it ironic, try a hammer and a sickle, and attack him like you're an Ukraninian teenage serial killer. Whatever you do, best of luck.
You aren’t really providing much detail about what kind of Communist he is. There is a pretty wide spectrum of debate that exists within socialist thought. If he is denying the Uighur concentration camps, wearing an Ushanka, saying Stalin did nothing wrong and praising the horrific practices of the Orwellian police state in China then I’d say ditch his ass. I personally like people who think outside the box a little bit Communist or Libertarian if you are serious about this ask him why he believes what he believes and you might be able to analyze his thinking. Hopefully he has actually listened and read the works of Communist thinkers and economics and isn’t just doing it to be edgy.
People are who they are. Like is an experiment to discover what you are. Like doesn't change you, nor you changed by life. It's just an opportunity to obverse your true form.I see no other way to solve this, the man I once knew is long dead.
There is an old Soviet joke where the local party apparatchik comes to speak to a group of farmers and says, “Keep up the good work comrades, Communism is just there on the horizon.” As the farmers are leaving the meeting one turns to the other and asks, “What’s a horizon?” The other farmer replies it’s that line in the distance it looks close but you won’t ever reach it.”"Orwellian police state" is a feature, not a bug, of communism. That never-ending "transition" period into some utopian state of classlessness Marx wrote about is called dictatorship of the proletariat, not mild late-August picnic of the proletariat.
Yes, socialism is broad, but socialism =/= communism.

Yeah, but what does this have to do with me chucking an attack helicopter out of a helicopter? There is an old Soviet joke where the local party apparatchik comes to speak to a group of farmers and says, “Keep up the good work comrades, Communism is just there on the horizon.” As the farmers are leaving the meeting one turns to the other and asks, “What’s a horizon?” The other farmer replies it’s that line in the distance it looks close but you won’t ever reach it.”
I agree with you the 20th century communist project is over, it was a failure. I have to wonder though ever since the fall of the Soviet Union we tend to just dismiss out of hand any alternative project to capitalism thinking it will ultimately lead to a gulag. We have more or less accepted Francis Fukuyama’s End of History, which is the claim he put forward that human civilization has effectively reached its horizon line and liberal democracy and global capitalism are the end stage of our ideological development.
Even Francis Fukuyama today acknowledges he was wrong about the end of history because of the way automation and digital life is changing the productive forces that govern our work and our material conditions. Given the massive challenges facing our globalized world today like ecology and mass human migration along with digital control and bio-genetics this opens the door to serious conversations about alternative worlds and alternate systems. Even people like Bill Gates acknowledge the need for some kind of universal basic income paid for by a tax on automated machines and software which replace human jobs. It’s interesting to think that the nature of capitalism as we understand it might be changing into something different and we don’t know what that is yet. But it frightens me to think who is going to be responsible for proposing the solutions to the problems our system can’t address? Right now you are most likely going to hear it from Davos and The World Economic Forum. It strikes me as some kind of synthesis of a certain type of communism but under capitalist ownership like smart cities where as they say you will own nothing and be happy. Will this be some kind of digital serfdom where we pay a rent for everything? I don’t know but things seem to be heading in that direction. Hegelian dialectics dictates that even in the so called end stage of history there will be new problems. Even if an authentic democratic worker’s state automated luxury space communist Star Trek utopia was achieved there would be new problems arising there. No matter what we do to solve problems we usually end up creating more and the horizon never ends.
Capitalism and democracy can be very adaptable though and account for some of these problems internally to maintain themselves. 20th century Communism ran into too many problems with its own rigidity and internal contradictions over time and was not very adaptable. China was adaptable by combining capitalism with its authoritarian state and it produced the biggest economic miracle in modern times. Today they are the world’s factory and more ruthless capitalists than the Robber Barron’s of the 19th century.
If he identifies as an attack helicopter then he’ll fly to safety with his chopper reassignment. If he’s a witch then he’ll float when he hits the water. If he hits the water and sinks then he’s a godless communist.Yeah, but what does this have to do with me chucking an attack helicopter out of a helicopter?
"muh commies" are what caused a major part of our societal rot. They infiltrated our universities, then our schools, then our businesses. They've been in government since ages ago, and they've painted those that fought them back as insane. What do you think intersectionalism is but marxism on crack?Who still gives a shit about muh commies in 2021? Boomer brainrot at its worst
Stuff like critical race theory and feminism don't have all that much in common with Marxism, actual communists are labelled "class reductionists" by the twitter crowd"muh commies" are what caused a major part of our societal rot. It's because they've abandoned the old ideology like they've abandoned all of their past.Stuff like critical race theory and feminism don't have all that much in common with Marxism, actual communists are labelled "class reductionists" by the twitter crowd

It's no joke, sadly some provincial school boards in Canada are seeking to remove or already have removed Shakespeare from the English curriculum. I have my issues with the education system in general but Shakespeare is pretty damn important for learning the evolution of the English language. I don't understand it just because he's an 'old white guy' he's deemed to be no longer relevant in a modern Canadian context. Instead Shakespeare is being replaced with First Nations literature which is fine to include but kids are just going to grow up hating that like they hated reading Shakespeare, if anything replace Catcher in the Rye that book sucks but leave Shakespeare alone. It's because they've abandoned the old ideology like they've abandoned all of their past.
