She actually had "vlogs" during the dustin era where they would leave the house and do things. the last time she had a real "vlog" style video series was what, last summer at PRIDE with the famous chinese food in the hotel with becky instead of actually going? that was the beginning of the end of her mobility.

I'm just trying to picture her eating a Mickey D's burger with only one bun. Best not.

It's possible this plan is designed less to get her to lose weight and more to give her an idea what normal eating is like.(Pretending we don't already know it's failed, or this doc only does surgeries....) He's super easing her in. Currently, she doesn't eat three meals a day, she eats all day long. It's not all snacking, I'm sure she has 5-6 full meals a day as well - what we would consider meals, anyway. The doctor understands how disordered her eating is and is trying a method to get her to normalize it step-by-step without worrying about amounts as much, although he does want some loss so she'll be motivated.

But it'll never work. (As we know). He already gave her a generous plan: breakfast with eggs and bacon, and lunch where she can even have her beloved rice, and a meat and veggie dinner with no restrictions on how much to eat and a snack every 30 minutes. But, she's already decided to add veggies to the lunch since it won't be enough for her, and in her mind, steamed veggies are nothing, (and I'm sure she'll add butter and that disgusting sprinkle she likes). She'll continue to add things here and there (dessert after dinner is a given) until she's not following him at all.

And we know it failed because not only is Amber a greedy, lazy hog who is dependent on over-eating. She also has a HUGE problem with any type of authority, which means nobody will ever be able to give her a plan, or even ideas, and have her do it. She always knows best. And she will until the day she dies. In 2020.

Amber is similar to Chantal in many ways -especially lying.
There is no doctor.
No one in the medical field would open themselves up to a malpractice suit for a 600 pound land whale who could drop dead at any second. No weight or blood pressure taken because anyone looking at her knows she has high blood pressure.
If anyone gave her advice it was more than likely -no salt or carbs. That's it. Nothing else to say.
An actual doctor telling a person at her weight to eat frozen dinners & fast food? No way.
I wouldn't be surprised if she did waddle into a medical office that they told her anything just to get her out & don't even have a record that she was there.

I actually think saying you can't eat fast food on a diet is too general of a statement and isn't entirely correct. Losing weight and maintaining that loss includes learning to live in the real world and making better choices, and there are going to be times where you are caught without the time or ability to make your own food and need to hit a drive-thru (not applicable to AL though since all she does is lay in bed).
But does being in that situation give you free reign to order a double bacon cheeseburger with fries and a chocolate shake? No. Nearly every single fast food restaurant offers the opportunity for making the best of a fast food menu. Here, a lesson:

Salads with grilled chicken (just be smart and order light italian dressing or a vinaigrette, maybe skip the cheese or any other crunchy-type toppings). Some places actually make some really decent salads loaded with different veggies and sliced boiled egg, etc. They have tons of protein and keep you really full, including McDonald's.

Grilled chicken wraps (read the menu details and order without mayo or ranch or any other heavy sauces - ask for light italian dressing or salsa on the side for dipping)

Most places will also accommodate you if you ask them to wrap any of their sandwiches in lettuce instead of a bun.

So could Amber eat fast food and stick to her calorie goals? Absolutely, but she has NO REASON to visit a fast food joint right now since all she does is sit at home. Her entire life will be devoted to her weight loss until she loses enough to become more mobile, so she has more than enough time to plan her meals.

I asked my friend who had WLS surgery about what their pre surgery diet was.

They didn't have any inherent food addiction mind, so I have no fucking idea how that would factor in but Fast food isn't forbidden in any way. It was really a matter of portion size. <Again no food addiction>. They had to get used to basically cutting a cheese burger into 1/4ths and eating that slowly over an afternoon with water.

Frankly, if all they focused on was CICO, then fast food truly doesn't matter. Fortunately there is no real doctor or else some one is facing a lawsuit I'm sure. Fast Food and food addiction go hand in hand because of the myriad chemicals used in fast food, which you physically crave when you consume it often.

I wonder if she concocted this plan and asked Alexa for medical advice and claimed it was a Doctor.

Her diet is so full of BS I can't stand it. A low carb diet would look something like this, and sustainable for our land whale. And it doesn't include any beef jerky or burger(s). She made this shit up - we all know it. Does she think we're THAT stupid. Meal replacement bars are a definite NO on any WLPlan. You eat whole foods whenever possible.

Sugar (artificial sweeteners should also be avoided)
  • Candy, or any other dessert-type treat (pie, cake, brownies, cookies, frozen yogurt, ice cream, donuts, etc)
  • Chocolate
  • Fruit with high sugar content (watermelon, cantaloupe, mangoes, grapes, cherries, pears, figs, bananas)
  • Jellies and Jams
  • Dried or candied fruit
  • Crackers
  • Chips (even the baked kind)
  • Potatoes (in any form — baked, mashed, fried, tots, chips, etc)
  • Starchy vegetables (beans, peas)
  • Popcorn (even without butter)
  • Nuts (including their butters)
  • Rice (both white and brown)
  • Pasta (both white and brown)
  • Cereal (even oatmeal is debated upon — some say Dr. Now is fine with small portions of oatmeal, while others claim he prefers his My 600-lb Life patients to skip it)
  • Bread should be restricted to whole grain, in one-ounce portions, and early in the day, if possible
  • Juice
  • Soda
  • Honey
  • Syrup
  • Molasses
  • Meal supplements and shakes
  • Sports beverages
  • Energy beverages
  • Alcohol

Here is a sample menu for a 1200-calorie low-carb, low fat, high protein diet, which is something Amber could easily follow:

  • 1 egg plus 1 egg white (cannot be fried) – 105 calories
  • 2 oz turkey sausage (cooked in water, or microwaved) – 130 calories
  • 1 slice of whole wheat toast – 80 calories
  • 0.5 low-fat cottage cheese – 90 calories
  • Unlimited: black coffee, water, or unsweetened tea
MEAL TOTAL: 405 calories
  • 1 can of tuna in water – 200 calories
  • 1 Tbsp light mayo – 50 calories
  • 2 cups spinach – 40 calories
  • 2 carrots – 60 calories
  • Unlimited: water, unsweetened tea
  • 3 oz grilled chicken – 130 calories
  • 2 cups steamed broccoli – 100 calories
  • 1 oz low-fat cheddar cheese – 50 calories
  • Unlimited: water, unsweetened tea
  • 2 oz turkey breast slices – 75 calories
  • 1 slice of low-fat swiss cheese – 60 calories

My wager is that she's already ditched the diet and WL doctor in favor of "focusing on my mental health, you guys" I suspect this will have been her back-up plan for ages. No way is she going to shell out money on a therapist, psychiatrist, AND a weight loss specialist without having any health insurance. Using her mental health is the perfect excuse to eat whatever she wants and still claim she is actively trying to help herself. I smell bullshit all over this.
