Not really other than the fact that the Star Wars Canon is in the same parallel universe where England becomes a Catholic monarchy again but that takes place billions of years after the events of Star Wars and that the events cause a chain of events, that affect events that happen billions of years later.

No. Star ward is GALACTIC fantasy mythos. Science Fiction implies that the characters aren't mythological heroes bound by some "dark and light" morality quest.
Nothing in stars wars is realistic while star trek in theory is nornal people in a grey moral world with advance technology .
Science fiction is also Cyberpunk or even steampunk but not fucking jedis, the force, siths and unrealistic aliens.
Do you consider Warhammer 40k science fiction ?

Because Star Wars and Star Trek are both popular franchises and the crossover explains the mystery of how the Star Wars Universe split into the Alpha Star Wars Universe and Beta Star Wars Universe which will make fans of both the original theatrical versions of the original trilogy and the modern Disney Canon happy. I am a fan of both.
