NASA Hoax/Space Denialists - "Space is Water!"

Over the past few months, I have been keeping an eye on the NASA Hoax community on YouTube. While no one in particular is deserving of their own cow thread, as a whole they produce some pretty interesting content; shockingly, a lot of their videos get basically no negative comments, and there are plenty that will have hundreds of upvotes with almost no downvotes.

Things that a lot of these people actually believe:

>Hollywood movies depicting space travel are propaganda
>Everything space-related is computer-generated fakery
>Nothing has ever even come close to reaching LEO (low Earth orbit)
>It is impossible for man to reach space
>It is impossible to for satellites or space stations to exist
>Distant asteroids/exoplanets are just potatoes or toy marbles photoshopped into fake space images
>No one has ever left Earth; nothing exists beyond Earth
>Space ships and shuttles are just eloabrate toy models/rockets
>All space agencies are propaganda machines intended to make us believe lies
>Space is made of water
>All media produced by space agencies is staged or photoshopped
>The Jews/Illuminati/Reptilians/demons want to keep us goyim ignorant of truths so they support this propaganda which converts us to atheism

This thought process fascinates me. Why is it so unbelievable that mankind has begun to reach beyond Earth? We've been developing for thousands of years, and the amount of progress (both societal and technological) we've made in just 100 years is absolutely astounding. Within 50 years (probably much less than that, actually), we'll have stepped foot on Mars. Why would you want to live in a world where that's impossible?

These people are completely stupid. Basically since 500 bc, Pythagoras mathematically calculated the size of the earth and that it was round.

There's a lot of competing spheres of influence that make up the "spaceflight is impossible , NASA is a hoax" crowd, but the biggest contributors are "Cranky" scientists who seek to promote their own theories of physics/space travel by discrediting the penultimate scientific achievement of recent human history, and Flat Earthers who, as the label on the tin suggest, still adamantly believe the world is not round.

Filling in the cracks are the minor players, the "If the government says they did they surely DIDN'T!" blanket conspiracists, historical conspiracists who think the US hoaxed it all to just make Murrican' Capitalism look better than the Godless Communists during the Space Race, and the sundry new age kooks who's New Agey worldviews are incompatible with the very concept of the void of space and distant orbiting bodies that don't give a darn about humanity or the usual "the Bible says it can't happen" types filling out the other side of that horseshoe.

What I'm amazed by is the ability for the Flat Earth hypothesis to exist when the FRIKIN MOON and SUN are a rather compelling "EXHIBIT A" that celestial bodies are SPHERICAL.

And, exactly who was faking the computer-generated images thousands of years ago when people started tracking the things they saw in the sky? There is an extra-cranky flavor of conspiracists who even think the aforementioned Moon is fake.. as is any mention of it in human history.... yeah, every pic of the Moon you see in the cave paintings of long-vanished tribes? Propaganda....

Don't think about it too hard, it'll just give you a headache.

Those people are one of the few internet groups that piss me off.
NASA was and is always a inspiration to me seeing people discarding the work of several dozens of astronauts (just see the right stuff to have a minimal grasp of what those men and women face) thousands of engineers and hundreds of thousands of workers who built the rockets and their facilities, seriously bothers me.

It's insane,its okay to make videos and dislike NASA related stuff,but some of them actually go and harass and threat veteran astronauts, even fucking buzz Aldrin, 2nd man on the fucking moon couldn't stand anymore and punched one of them on the face.

There's videos on YT that argue that Earth is hollow and there's a government coverup of it. That ignores the evidence from seismology, geology, and planet formation -- and of course, how gravity cancels itself out inside a hollow sphere.

One thing to love about this aside from Sibrel being punched by Buzz was that the former tried to sue the latter, claiming Buzz was being aggressive despite Sibrel being the aggressive jackass.

Imagine being Buzz Aldrin. Imagine being the second person in the history of the universe to step foot on the Moon. Imagine being one of the first people to visit and explore a celestial body. Imagine being on the Moon and reflecting on the fact that for thousands of years, mankind dreamed of visiting the Moon and now you're standing on it.

And then decades later, someone asks to interview you for a Japanese children's show and you're like "Sure, I'll do it!" Also, it's so obvious that Bart Sibrel was harassing Buzz Aldrin in the hopes of provoking a response so he could say "See?!? Look at how defensive he is! He's totally guilty!"

Unfortunately, the moon is tidally locked with earth (meaning: it spins around itself about as quickly as it spins around Earth, thus we only ever see one side) so some people genuinely think the moon is fake. Or artificial. Or a flat disk. It's weird how creative these fools can be.

Why would you want to live in a world where that's impossible?

I think 2 major possibilities are:

(1) interpreting scriptures too literally
(2) a yearning to return to a time when Earth was universally thought of as being the center of a small and tidy cosmos.

Conspiracy theorists and conspiracy theory don't set out to solve anything, only to tear down the existing dogma for personal reasons that are often petty, superstitious or malignantly ignorant.

Conspiracists aren't looking for the truth, they're just looking to discredit you.
