"CAMAB/CAFAB" are not terms from intersex communities, or at least, that isn't where they started. I remember that shift and iirc those terms came from trans groups trying to come to a compromise with them when they were like "whoopsie, guess we're being ~problematic."

I think what a lot of people don't realize is that if anyone is "just trying to live their lives," it isn't mentally ill troons, it's normal-ass intersex people who had an unfortunate congenital deformity/genetic fuck-up. Just like most sane humans, the majority of them view all this trans stuff with indifference, confusion, and/or disgust, and typically aren't the ones out there coming up with flags, chimping out to be added to the QUILTBAG, and inventing ever-complex acronyms. That stuff comes from "the trans community" and its members who LARP as being intersex because they think it makes them seem more "valid." (How can I tell, you might ask? Well, because there are about a million run-of-the-mill AGP troons who all of a sudden started claiming they're intersex, and being real coy about it. Our own Jonathan Yaniv is one of them.)

All that kind of stuff is often viewed with unease or outright hostility by a large portion of intersex people, and with good reason: they belong to a community that tries to get doctors to not cut kids dicks off just because of social pressure! They're trying to not be seen as freaks or social misfits who need surgery. Where trans people use "AMAB/AFAB" to describe biological sex, intersex people do the literal opposite- they use "AMAB/AFAB" to describe what doctors mutilated them to be. Many seek to reclaim their actual, biological sex, which they recognize as reality regardless of surgeries performed. Intersex advocates are confirmed TERFS lol

The fact that their issues and terminology have been subsumed by the trans borg is like a sick joke. The difference is amab/afab is just like "your kid is somewhere in the middle but everything works so just raise them as a boy (or girl)" camab/cafab means that surgical intervention was taken to make them more acceptably male or female (reducing or enlarging parts basically).
