Obviously Chris has either left out or forgotten about important details, but it seems that something pretty serious must have happened to bring in people to restrain him. I also get the feeling that the incident is what brought about Chris' homophobia, because he apparently sat on the principal's lap and was uncomfortable. What does everyone else here think?

May I also add that Chris moving out of the Greene county schools after that episode was the beginning of his descent to LOLcow infamy, since he continued mainstream education at a time when he desperately needed mental help. Of course, Borb did nothing about it.

I don't think he went on some sort of berserk rampage or anything. I'm guessing he had a full-on tantrum with kicking and screaming (well, definitely the screaming, that's on tape in the Greene County Hall of Fame), and the staff couldn't talk him down, and figured they needed to restrain him before he hurt himself or someone else.
He probably had mini-meltdowns in the past too, and after The Incident, the principal decided that Chris needed a school where the staff was actually trained to deal with his issues and restrain people safely.

I think he did not notice the teacher call for help and said help arriving during his meltdown, so when he calmed down a little, he suddenly found himself escorted to the principal's office. Instead of listening to the faculty's explanation for bringing him there, he had another meltdown.

True, but here's the thing. People dont change very much unless they want to, have to, or something completely rocks their world. Chris doesn't want to change, has never had to, and hasn't had anything super dramatic happen to him, so that kinda points to him not changing much, if at all.

Trust me, I knew a few people who would try as kids. I knew this kid who was fucked up in the head because of his parents. He tried burning down the school, so I ran for help and got a custodian to stop him.

if you recall, in his "autism tutorial" videos he said that they (that school district) wanted to put him in a mental institution. I'm sure what really happend was he was having outbursts and the whole mainstreaming wasn't working out. They probably just said he needed to attend a school that specializes in autistics.

He likes to point out that they held him down and recorded audio of his screams and cries for help. I'm sure they were just restraining him and recording it for documentation.

Also keep I'm mind that mainstreaming is the path that required the minimum amount of effort and financial responsibly on behalf of his parents. It's probably why they fought hard for it.

Probably Chris got upset over something, likely the tiniest thing, and that evolved into a tantrum and tard raging. Obviously such a situation is dangerous to the other students and the teachers if the tard raging kid attacks them, or starts throwing shit, so one teacher would move the kids elsewhere while the others removed Chris' shoes and carefully hold him down until he stopped raging.

I suspect that Chris might have been creating such a situation often, perhaps daily. So the school likely said that Chris' behavior was too poorly controlled for a mainstream school, and that he had to attend a special school that's better equipped to deal with this constantly, while teaching him how to behave correctly. Agreed, to the mummified Bob, when his son was diagnosed with Autism he did not go an research any breakthroughs or treatment for his son. Nope, instead he figured his mute son was pretty much retarded and an embarassment to him when his other two kids (who he had little to do with raising) were a doctor and a mathetition. He must have thought that mental health care was the same as it was in his day and that a special school meant stright jackets and Nurse Ratchet giving lobotomies.

I highly doubt the school board said anything about putting Chris in a mental hospital, and I'm sure they gave Borb a thorough explanation about why they were ill-equipped to educate and manage a child with his degree of autism, why his behavioral problems were an overwhelming burden on the staff and why he needed to be placed in an environment more tailored to his specific needs (private special needs school)

Obviously his parents were adamantly opposed to transferring him to a special school either because of
a) Their old-fashioned preconceptions of special education and mental health care
b) The cost of tuition
c) Fear of increased social stigma of having a mentally handicapped son
d) All of the above

On a side note, I really wish that Nathaniel Greene had the sufficient technology and equipment to record lulzy tard rage videos of Chris and post them on the then nonexistent Internet and YouTube. Vids related

Actually, a troll in the CWCipedia mailbag made that claim, which Chris denied. I'm going to side with Chris on that; if he did bite another kid, there probably would have been a news article and Chris might have actually been sent to that special school.

I always believed Chris stretched the truth about this incident so thin he could use it as a raincoat. I believed Chris was confronted (told he did something wrong) and went full blown tard-rage. Any recording of his "screams" was probably for legal reasons andthe staff jad to hold him down because he wouldn't restrain himself.

I personally think the Chandlers moved because the school was being quite forceful for getting Chris the help he needed.

It was likely that the school wanted to send Chris to a special school for Autistic, however Borb saw it as a state mental hospital type situation, school board, in Canada anyways, set a program of education that a student requires to be best for them and other students, it could be that the school said that school or home school.
