Not exactly. He grew up in one of the worst neighborhoods in the country. His mother was literally a crack whore. It almost goes without saying that he never knew his father. His childhood was pretty horrible up until coaches started noticing how ludicrously talented he was athletically, which is how he got into that prep school in the first place.
