Up until LeBron left Cleveland, the Cavaliers were carried, over and over again, by him being a generational talent, and the Golden State Warriors, meanwhile, became a superteam because Kevin Durant is a fucking asshole. Over 80% of the league, for almost four fucking years, had no ability whatsoever to even hope to compete against these, and over a third of the teams were deliberately tanking to secure draft picks.
