I believe more recent DNA testing has shown that the Ancient Egyptians share more Turkish and European DNA than African. So, because I am no expert on this alternative history... why do they think Egyptians look so Arab today? Is it supposed to be because White People, or because Islam?
During early medieval times arabs invaded big parts of Mediterranean territories, included Egypt-Libia-Morocco-Tunisy and south parts of Italy/Spain and (I'm pretty sure?) Greece. Which is why all these countries have various degrees of arab ethnic traits and huge arab influence in art.So, because I am no expert on this alternative history... why do they think Egyptians look so Arab today? Is it supposed to be because White People, or because Islam?
Not everyone on the Mediterranean looked like that anyway. Things were more diverse when travel was more difficult and several dozen mass invasions from the steppes and desert had yet to occur. Can you even imagine how weird it would look to people of the time if everyone around the Mediterranean sea looked light brown with curly black hair and then inside the exact borders of Egypt everyone is just black?
