Another thing, isn't it funny how they demand to be respected but always talk down to or about Christians? It's never Judaism or Islam it's always Christians. Why? Witch trials stopped centuries ago.

Well it might be because they see Judaism and Islam as fellow minorities "oppressed" by Christianity. In the case of Judaism though it might also be due to the fact that they don't practice active conversion. Its not necessarily as popular in Christianity as it once was but you still see groups attempting to get you to convert and so a lot of un-religious people see Christianity as a little more overbearing. The reason they don't see Islam in the same light is that most westernized Muslims they interact with are way more liberal than their Middle Eastern counterparts and don't see the point of conversion.

What is it with Gen X/Millenial women and their attraction to witchcraft/neopagan shit? I've seen a lot of it on social media, usually just reposts of moonbatt-tier "magic" or "witchcraft" related aphorisms, but still. It's especially odd when they're concurrently posting lots of stuff related to church activities. I don't know if you read Exodus, Melissa, but God- he ain't so hot on witches.

Although I guess amidst all the metaphorical witch hunting going on, it's amusing that "real" witches self identify.

They created this cultural image of young, cool girls with special powers. Sailor Moon gets lumped in too kinda. It's a cool and appealing aesthetic IMO, but nothing will ever convince me rocks have special powers.

Four years ago, especially during the days leading up to the US Presidential Election, there were a number of posts/reblogs encouraging users to share a spell that would allegedly curse Donald Trump so that he wouldn't win the election. In retrospect, we know how well it worked. The poor witches must have felt like some combination of after their spell backfired. It might be interesting to keep an eye on Tumblr to see if anyone tries the same thing this year without learning from their 2016 mistakes.

It would be one thing if these people discussed what they liked about the shape, color, etc. of those stones or crystals. Instead, they unironically believe that being in the same proximity with these stones can cure what ails people or the world as a whole.

To a lesser extent, I've observed people who once claimed to be Wiccan either sour on or abandon those beliefs -- likely due to these people that have no clue how any sort of spirituality works.

Also, I think The Craft was pretty popular? Anyways, that probably in combination with the retro nostalgia. Also, just the ~aesthetic~ in general, the dark colors, the witchy clothing, beautiful crystals, flowers and herbs... Someone already mentioned the moodboards here, that's probably a huge draw for young girls who were barely alive in the nineties.

For the church-goers, though, why not just pray? I mean, isn't the whole point of prayer to ask for divine help with something that's out of your physical grasp?

I think for some its a desire for the physicality of an object. Spirituality is so intangible and such an abstract concept that for some it becomes easier when its workings and practices can be applied to a physical object. Christianity does it with wine and bread in a similar way. It becomes more personal when you are able to physically feel and interact with the object to which you are applying spiritual use to. Rosaries are another one that I can think of.

It is no coincidence that all of those shows came out around the same time, they've been brainwashing children with these shows in order to make witches, sorcery, magic, and witchcraft look "cute, cool, and fun", and personally, I find it very deceiving and sickening. Meanwhile, any TV shows or hollywood mainstream movies make Christianity look either "lame, stupid, or geeky", or just outright "evil and hatemongers" when that couldn't be further from the truth. Satan is a very clever being and will do anything to corrupt today's generation in order to usher in a New World Order, and look where we are at here in 2020, if these aren't signs that we are living in the end times, then I don't know what are.
