There are more traditional occultists and "Ritual Magickians" who've performed pseudo-Catholic rites because they maintain that the Mass is an incredibly powerful ceremony. Some of them have even sought consecration as Bishops in non-Papal Catholic churches to obtain the magickal apostolic succession of priesthood that can (allegedly) be traced back to Christ and his disciples. One of the most famous of these occultist "independent bishops" was the late David Ferrie. He's one of the central figures in most of the JFK assassination conspiracy theories: a commercial and military pilot who first met Oswald when the latter was a teenager in the Civil Air Patrol, and probably a Glowie who was "suicided" when he became a liability. Ferrie was consecrated as a bishop in the Orthodox Old Catholic Church, but was also reputed to celebrate Voodoo ceremonies in his New Orleans flat.
Another example: the pervert power-couple Marion Zimmer Bradley and Walter Breen. Respectively a bestselling lesbian novelist and a noted gay numismatist involved in a pre-Stonewall "beard" marriage, both were open pedophiles, although only Breen did any time for molesting little kids (he died in prison, serving a term for his third kiddie-rape conviction). These two winners were consecrated into the independent bishopric by a third boy-diddling prelate: Patriarch Michael Itkin, a convert to Catholicism from Judaism who ran several different "radical Christian" sects, and who had his dirty fingers in everything from New Left activism to LSD research.
