I got to thinking recently. Talent in Hollywood and the media is both a blessing and a curse.

Here's how I rate some of the Nepotism actors.

Good
Drew Barrymore (Entrepreneur extraordinaire, fought her way back from drug addiction, genuinely seems passionate about film industry)
Laura Dern (the smartest character in Jurassic Park aside from Goldblum)
Colin Hanks
Christian Slater
Carrie Fisher (RIP Space Mom. You could have saved TROJ if idiots knew what they were doing)
Bryce Dallas Howard
The Gyllenhaal Siblings
Jennifer Aniston
Max Irons
Billie Lourd
Helena Bontham Carter
Robert Downey Jr
Sean Astin
Jamie Lee Curtis
Alexander Scarsgard
Freddie Prince Jr

Meh
Julia Roberts
Liv Tyler
Cynthia Nixon
David Arquette
Jennifer Grey
Sara Gilbert
Sofia Coppola
Kristen Stewart
Zoe Kravitz

Why the fuck do you exist
Lena Dunham
Max Landis
Margaret Qualley
Timothee Chalamet
Armie Hammer
Gwyneth Paltrow
Charlie Sheen
Kate Hudson
Nick Simmons
Stephen Baldwin
Bijou Phillips

Legendary Man Deserves His Own Category

Whats wrong with nepotism? its pretty much universal that you would want to provide for your family/children. Why wouldnt you try give them an "in" to the industry that overpay talentless hacks. Ppl just get mad they arent the one able to provide or gain from nepotism.
There's encouraging your kids to do what they love and then there's feeding their delusions and spoiling them to have an unhealthy perspective of the world that is unrealistic before the world stomps on their skull to death. The latter, unfortunately, is more common than is expected.

It's a neutral thing, it just depends on the person, someone is either talented or they're not.

If nepotism pushes ahead an untalented person then the test of time will probably result in their work being obscure or totally forgotten.

I know this isn't a Lena Dunham hate thread, but still:

Stephen Baldwin is a sad case. He existed solely to star with Pauley Shore in Bio Dome. Now his use has run out and people just try to find things for him to do like a senile old relative nobody has the heart to send to an assisted living center.

First thing, there's the inherent hypocrisy of Hollywood people constantly arguing about socialism and equality while living as a de-facto aristocracy. Second is that, while people don't oppose transfering money and valuables across generations, giving incompetent morons jobs for the sole reason of having a familial bond is a horrible idea that can only hurt businesses when they inevitably fuck up.

Hollywood is the modern equivalent to the aristocracy. You've got dynasty and lines and the like. Plus you don't really need to have things like 'talent'. All you need is a name and money. Its worse than politics, you don't even need to be elected. All you need is your famous parents and relatives shilling for you and you've got a name all set up.

Of course there's going to be massive nepotism. Partially the reason why its so difficult to break into. Its not as if anyone can do it.

You forgot Scott Eastwood as "the cringy wigger" from Gran Torino or "the sergeant who gets mowed down by a hidden MG-42" from Fury. I'd say he needs a good breakout role, just like his father did.

And Jaden Smith. I too would rather forget about him.

Another thing is that Clint Eastwood doesn't help his son out at all. He has to do it on his own. I remember reading an article which basically straight up said to him he wasn't going to help and he had to do it like he did, on his own. Which is why he's got no vanity projects or his father directing him or any of that sort of shit. Like not even a wink-wink nudge-nudge role. Just pure extra stuff that he has to make it on his own He's basically the polar opposite of Jaden Smith.

And Jaden Smith turned out to be a weirdo tranny, Scott Eastwood is a cigar smoking asskicker like his father. Parenting.

Knowing the Pedo Pavilion that Hollywood is, I wonder if any of the parents getting their kids into movies are able to steer them away from the casting couch, or are they literally pimping their own kids like the mother in that pro-prostitution country song that Bobbie Gentry wrote as a "feminist statement"?

Only plebs need to pimp their kids. These people know where the bodies are buried and have the money and pull. Once you hit a certain power level you ARE the casting couch.

Wasn't he a character in mass Effect? Or was that another Baldwin?
