Ironically, the place he calls out the most, Tumblr, would have been the perfect platform because they are so inept I don't think they can actually manage to shut people down without calling 15 people and a yahoo executive first.

I actually really like Tumblr simply because I joined and started saying horrible things and no one cared. Like, the Tumblr platform is a lot more stable and supportive. I'm not sure if it's incompetence or genius.
Seeing how it's owned by Yahoo which is circling the drain so fast they're despertly seeking out a AT&T or Verizon style buyer to save them... probably the former.
How on earth is Tumblr losing money? My young cousins all use it and so do all their friends.
It has no monitization scehme at all. They legit forgot to monetize it it seems like. Plus it's yahoo as a whole that's going down, not just tumblr.

the reason tumblr is going badly
- they cant monetise it because the userbase is one of the most vehemently anti-corporate and anti-advertising userbases on the internet, they will block any and all ads
- since the userbase is so used to a lack of monetisation they react venomously to any attempts to do so
- tumblr is run by a bunch of jackasses who cant code and hate work, just look at this former employee account
- its exsanguinating users who are fed up with the idiotic and aloof staff, aggressive feminism, the lack of security from ddos and hack attacks, autistic fandoms, and a whole bunch of other things
- bad press and business decisions
