Looks like the fire was pretty intense. . . the damage is probably worse than most of us thought. I felt all along that the fire damage was going to be severe though.

The bathrooms were both located in the back/central portion of the house. This picture is looking at the front of the house. It looks like the fire, fueled by the horde, became very intense very quickly, and spread rapidly upward, burning a hole though the roof with extreme heat, but didn't spread horizontally much.

Other thread is nearing 100 pages, so I'd agree that a new thread is a good idea. A moderator should retitle this thread with "Part 3" added, though.

That's a pretty intense photograph, you can clearly see the window in the upper right (I think it's the living room?) belching out a ton of black smoke. There appears to be a similar situation going on with the window opposite that, presumably Chris' room. Given that the bathrooms seemed to be centered in the floorplan it looks like the fire just shot straight up, but all the smoke looks like there was enough of a radius to the fire to affect the other rooms.

Makes me think that the "minor injuries" could have been related to climbing on that shoddy old roof... would slipping and smacking/twisting your wrist on the guttering or something similar count as a minor injury?

But uh, yeah, that's a lot worse than I'd pictured in my mind. At a guess the back half of that house is a write-off, and by the looks of that smoke anything in the rooms at the front of the house is maybe not completely FUBAR but definitely singed and/or smoke or water damaged.

Fire is so weird. It's kind of fascinating how a house can look relatively fine from the outside, but be burned to a crisp on the inside (I'm not a pyromaniac though, I swear).

I think so, yeah. Seeing how they didn't mention anything else about it in the article, they injury probably wasn't any more serious than that.

Also, it seems a lot of smoke was coming out of Chris' bedroom window (at a guess) so I think all of the Relics of Fail are indeed burnt to a(n apple) c(h)risp. Sorry guys...

Nice going! This gives a far better idea of how bad it was. I'd suspect most of the stuff in there is ruined, if not by fire then smoke and water damage. There's a ton smoke coming from both upper floor windows so Chris's room is at least half smoked out.

That looks like it could have easily gotten a lot worse so thank GodBear the fire dept. got there quickly.
