Not pertaining to Movie Night, but just asking here to gauge interest - this weekend and the following Monday is E3 conference time - the time when all the big game publishing companies get together to try and hype the shit out of their products, only to inevitably disappoint us before the end of the year.

Usually the conferences are good for fanboy ire and, especially in the case of Ubisoft and EA, an inordinate amount of cringe. So, would people be interested in using the room for we can bask in the glow of failure together, or is this more of a personal religious thing and you need to be solely focused on the conference else Phil Spencer might spontaneously combust without your patronage?

tl;dr - Would people be interested if I had the E3 streams play over the weekend (and Monday) or would I be wasting my time?

Oh and also this week is roughly the one year anniversary of me making promos for movie night. I know I've already this... weeks ago, but I need to start doing them again.

Do it. Both of the things.

Ok, just a few more comedy or horror movies and we can do that theme.
Several people seem interested enough in it to actually find movies, so that's a great sign.

I'll pitch in a few ideas for Comror/ Horedies...

Maniac (1934) - A 50 minute yarn from the 30s. It's got nudity (don't get too excited, it's 1930s nudity), drugs, necrophila, and the best worst transformation in cinematic history.

Don't let the title and the first 30 seconds fool you - this is Shivers aka David Cronenburg's first film. Essentially a high-rise apartment complex is infested by alien parasites which make people turn into sex fiends. Fun for the whole family.

And finally, something we watched probably 8 or 9 months ago...
Prophecy (1979) - No, not the Walken one (sadly). Instead, it's the story of a city-slicker hippie doctor, a giant mutant bear, and a bunch of Mexican actors portraying Native Americans.

This movie is one of those you have to see to believe. It looks awful, the plot is patchy at best, the music sucks and it's chock full of really poorly made stop motion monsters.

Guys, I will not be here this Friday, so please pick a theme that it will be easy for you all to get videos for.

We can be super lazy and make it a SBSG night. Or a potluck. If you have suggestions you can hit me up in the movie night since I'm usually in there pretty early on. Movies will be voted on and if you're suggesting filler please keep it ten minutes and under; no one wants to watch an hour long rant from some youtuber you find hilarious.

I put in random YouTube movie shit. People can obviously change that if they want.

So how did last Saturday go? I was busy working on TRS.

Any ideas for this week's theme?

If we're doing Childhood Trauma night, let me toss in a few movies which fucked me up when I was in the single digits...

The Brave Little Toaster - Hey kids, everything you own has a soul! If you throw anything away, it's like throwing a puppy into a dumpster!

House - Back when I was growing up in military housing, there were two things we had in ample supply: porn left in the gutters, and our parent's collection of horror movies. I couldn't find a decent of copy of "Tales from the Darkside: The Movie" which was my first foray into horror movies, but I do recall seeing bits and pieces of House when I hung out with other military brat amigos.

And of course, being the offspring of the 80s, I grew up watching Care Bears. Don't laugh - in their second movie, they fight motherfucking Satan... or whatever they call it in this movie. It's Satan.
