How intimate are we talking here?

Lets say a Lolcow joins and talks about how he's running a website and the drama of the website excuses the weird things they do. They say it takes a lot out of them and, Null A, Null B, and Null C respond.

Null A: "As a person who runs a website, I understand that they can cause a lot of () stresses in life, but that's just something to be overcome, and not an excuse for this sort of behavior."
Null B: "People like you make website hosts look bad."
Null C: "Running a website can be pretty shitty, but you're still a jerk."


Null A immediately jumps on an appeal to ethos and begins lording their own triumphs and tribulations over the head of a person who probably doesn't care anyways. They've instantly made the topic about themselves. They feel that their experience is both something that is at all relevant, and something that people want to hear. KatsuKitty might then come in and talk about his own website, and how sad that makes him, and now the entire fucking thread is derailed into a massive pity party. Then maybe Joe Cracker shows up to make it as awful as possible.

Null B is angry that this person dare exist and do the same things that they do. For some reason, he's overcome by insecurities and is concerned that, maybe people who see the Lolcow will affiliate him with the Lolcow, because they just so happen to be interested in the same things(???). KatsuKitty might then join in and reaffirm that said behaviors are not Lolcow-ish, because he also does them. Strength in numbers, insecure people huddle together and reaffirm one another.

Null C has found autistic zen. He knows that the thread isn't about him, but still manages to tie in personal experiences in an objective way. Whatever he may have experienced himself is irrelevant to the thread outside of how it pertains to the person of interest.

And more than anything, nobody follows posting guidelines, and mostly not by ignorance.

As an internet star owning several forums, I would know.
