I have no words for this one. In some ways it's exactly what I expect of him by this point, but he outdoes my expectations in every possible way; he shows some (rare, fleeting) cultural awareness of the fact that white, suburban American dads do not actually need guns for anything other than a gay hobby, but within the same breath he reaffirms that he is a "retired, wounded veteran" and needs weapons to protect himself. So he's aware enough to realize the flaws of the gun community but he isn't self-aware enough to realize that he is literally the embodiment of all of those flaws, in typical Jace fashion. Or maybe he kinda realizes that and he uses airsoft guns on purpose because part of him knows he will get someone killed if he had his hands on a real gun.
Aside from that, he does say at one point that he would "get arrested or die" if he killed someone with a real gun so at least his delusions have died down somewhat since the last times we've seen him talk about killing police officers in "self-defense" or believing that murder is an acceptable punishment for Internet trolling.

It's a toss-up at this point. I'd say when he's off his meds he definitely considers himself a full-blown veteran, but when he's on his meds he just keeps it up because it would hurt his ego too much to admit he was lying.
