Kaepernick was very much above average when he could break contain and run... very much below average when he was forced to pass. As far as Abdul-Rauf... it's a bit of a stretch to suggest he was anywhere near a HOF career. He was a shoot-first point guard who couldn't play defense... and even if you extrapolated out his prime NBA years he wasn't exactly on a HOF pace. He had eight full NBA seasons before he was "blackballed" and even then he averaged less than 15 ppg with horrible assist and defensive stats. He was nowhere near a proto Steph Curry... he is a run of the mill shoot first point guard.

There was no run of the mill shoot first guards in that time frame. Closest you had was maybe Isiah Thomas. And how can you not say he is a proto Curry? Ranged shooter, spread the floor, both have bad defense because of size and lack of athletic ability.
And his scoring rate wasn't awful, we are still talking 90s ball with 90s scoring and 90s coaching. He had a couple of seasons scraping 20ppg and his team during that time were 105ppg, he was top scorer, if not near when he was lower than 17ppg.
Would he have been HOF if he had a full career, maybe not, but he wasn't given the chance. He probably would have had a retired jersey or a team hof spot. Point is, way better than Kaep, relatively.
As for Kaep, nobody wants a QB that can't control his offense from the pocket. Running QBs are a bit of a meme, if a QB gets known for running they usually aren't consistent and reliable. You can really count on one hand "running" QBs and they all have absolute rockets and when they got older settled into top level pocket passers, Moon, Vick, Steve Young (scrambler like Kaep)...

lol. Isiah Thomas was so much superior defensively then Abdul-Rauf that I'm wondering if you are even old enough to have watched them play. It's downright insulting to put them in the same sentence as far as defense. Go to basketball-reference... go to any basketball forum... go ask anybody to testify to the defensive prowess of Abdul-Rauf... You won't find many takers. He could shoot... that was about it. He played in the NBA until we was 29.. there was no untapped potential.. he was what he was... a decent shooter and not much else.

The dirty truth about Kaep:

1) He was on the downturn before the kneeling stuff really caught on. Win-Loss record was going down the tubes and he wasn't producing like he had the season the 49ers made it to the Super Bowl. This ultimately led to him getting benched in favor of The Man, The Myth, The Legend, the unflappable Blaine Gabbert.

2) As far as I could tell, the 49ers didn't get rid of him. He opted to leave. He left in the hopes of a starting job. Ray Lewis fought to get him over in Baltimore, but Kaep's girlfriend tweeted out a picture implying that Ray Lewis was like a loyal slave to the Raven's owner (using Sam Jackson and Leo from Django Unchained as a comparison) and that pretty much killed Kaep's shot in Baltimore.

3) There was that incident with the tryout where he was going to have a tryout in front of representatives for TWENTY FIVE TEAMS. Then 3 hours before the tryout, he put forth a shit ton of demands that could not possibly be met in time, and the tryout got cancelled. Now has there EVER been a case of so many teams holding a massive tryout for one player? If there is, I'm not aware of it and then he basically pulls out at the last minute.

I agree with you. You have to remember that black people have lead a lot of popular mainstream content for decades now. Black people have pretty much directed mainstream music for the last century. Black Athletes have dominated major league sports since the 70s. White people control the business, blacks the creative. Before all this idpol shit, it was shared. Anyone was free to interact. There wasn't a large push to remove whites from the equation. You'd only hear this opinion from the fringes and no one thought to apply it. Now black people want control of culture for themselves. By that I mean they control who gets to interact with it. They don't want whites to be anything but slaves or dead. They're not separating themselves, that's already happened.
