The 32nd NHL team will officially be the Seattle Kraken.
Great name, pretty good logo, color scheme leaves a bit to be desired. At least we didn't go for "Sockeyes" like the loudest group in the city kept demanding. Orca eat salmon and there's absolutely going to be a Vancouver-Seattle rivalry going forward.

Fucking god awful name. Might as well have named it Seattle Epic Bacon Winners. Looks like I'm sticking with the Canucks.
I like the name and colour scheme. Kraken is different enough from the typical team name fare without being retarded, and while it is another blue/red/white colour scheme, at least this one comes in different shades of those colours.

The HFBoards threads about it are full of people doing /r/funny-tier "RELEASE THE KRAKEN" memes, then when other posters call it a meme name they go "UMM ACKSHUALLY it's a Scandinavian mythological creature and Seattle has Scandinavian heritage and blah blah blah". It's like they're trying to convince themselves that it's not a meme name.
The meme name was Rain City Bitch Pigeons (2nd prize goes to Seattle Freeze), and I spent far too much time this morning enjoying all the redditors who wanted that name for real sobbing into their cornflakes or trying to frame Kraken as somehow being white supremacist.

Doesn't even wear a poppy pin I bet.
The no crowd except virtual reactions is weird (and I keep assuming my stream is cutting out when it's really seven second curse word delays being enacted muting the sound) and the play has been kind of sloppy for 'playoffs' but best of five sprints for this Frankenstein version of a Cup tournament has a definite effect on me that amounts to can't look away. Or it may be the wagers I'm laying down on these play in series too, who can really say?
