I used to buy and sell manga, doujinshi and other Japanese collectibles as a side business. A large portion of my inventory focused on yuri because it was (and still is) a relatively niche genre, both in Japan and the West, without much competition in terms of other dealers. All my interactions with Japanese yuri fans and creators had been nothing but pleasant, so I figured it would be the same for Western yuri fans. I was very wrong.

Here is an incomplete list of reasons I have been yelled at by yuri weeaboos back when I used to sell at Western conventions and other international events. (This is also why I now exclusively sell online.)

- Selling non-yuri merch
- Selling yuri manga by an artist who had also written non-yuri manga
- Selling yuri manga by a male artist
- Selling yuri manga by a supposed male artist, except I knew it was by a female artist because I had met and talked to her myself (when I informed the angry weeb of this, she threatened to call con security on me, then ran off and never came back)
- Selling yuri manga with a male secondary character
- Selling yuri manga where one of the female characters was said to have dated a man years before the story took place
- Allowing a male customer to buy yuri merch from me

Surprisingly, I never had any problems with fujoshi or regular weebs.

You know, for someone's who's allegedly a man in a woman's body she sure seems to have a woman's terrible sense of humor.
But of course, all the worst men make sexual jokes about women and call things gay; that's why we should all be thankful for male feminists, who serve as paragons of virtue and demonstrate to men everywhere how to properly treat a lady.
