As a guy stuck in a telegram group with friends who have lurched super hard right, it is insane. I can't even mildly push back otherwise the narc (the fuentes of the group) loses his fucking mind. I've lost my only friends to posting unironically about ZOG, globohomo, covid conspiracies and the like but have stopped just short of QAnon. I don't even know these dudes anymore and its pretty soul crushing. I'm hoping to be there when they wake up but I fear their pride will get in the way (not that I would ever reject them)

He's just hyper aware of the fact that the perks of youth he's enjoyed so far will disappear once he's further into his 20s. There's novelty and there's a willingness for people to let things slide when it's a teenager saying the things he says. That disappears when it's someone who's clearly an adult saying those same things. Then he becomes just another guy who can be easily ignored or hit with much more effective hit pieces. There's no more risk of PR backfire when people stop and think "it's just a kid?" etc.

That isn't to say he's capable of thinking rationally about the consequences of this though. If he was then he would have reeled it in during the election and he would avoid trying to be provocative about things like the age of consent now. He could play it safe but his ego and his crippling fear of irrelevancy won't let him do it.

In regards to your opinion, I think there is some grey area, of like 16-18. Plenty of uni kids date girls who are junior or senior high school students. Plenty of older guys date college freshmen. Those are fully formed women, who are already experimenting with sex, so you might as well try to score first.

You nailed it. Nick’s big draw was being a teenager who had his own dissident right show with a sizable audience that could, theoretically, draw in zoomers to the cause. Since Nick has not evolved beyond that point, he becomes less relevant the older he gets. Nick has effectively squandered any potential or momentum he had.

90%+ of society is tolerant of a 16 year old dating and presumably fucking a 18 year old. The age of consent arguments of course want to push that gap further for obvious reasons. That’s why people can and should get suspicious of age of consent discussions: society by and large tolerates a little age gap but when someone wants to push that further, that’s when things get really questionable.

im new to watching Tucker but he's been having some pretty solid takes. Outright talking about the replacement of the American voter. The current stuff he's doing in regards to the FBI setting up plots in America (Garland , tx shooting/ Gretchen whitmer plot/ jan 6th). He's also got some frank conversations on the app that are interesting/long form interviews. I really enjoy some of them and the docu series he's been producing has been good too. He's also had a fair number of democrats on his show from Naomi Wolf/Jimmy Dore to former Clinton National Security advisors and various women's rights advocates who usually throw in a 'And I Dont usually agree with you tuck' or some form of that.
