Trying to get rid of whale carcasses with explosives has usually not turned out well.

Should have used shaped charges to knock it into the water and had Maritime Guard or someone tow it out a couple of kilometres.

This was probably a small coastal town though, so Harry, Tom, and James from the pub and local council probably came up with the idea with Dick the chief of police.

Nothing on Nick's twitter, but there's apparently a show tonight.

Remember when Nick requested that people not send "Daddy nooooo" superchats because it made him uncomfortable as a father? Pepperidge Farm remembers. Not that people aren't allowed to evolve as presenters or whatever. But it seemed like a departure from OG Rekieta to hear him cheer for someone on trial for offing their girlfriend and child, even jokingly. I also get the same weird 'brand' dissonance when a Nick, who allegedly loves being a husband and father, has Drex on and doesn't seem to challenge him on his view of women/marriage, but maybe I'm just being a sensitive little sniffler. I can't be too mad about law critiques of any stripe, since that's really why I listen to the show.

The way I see it, and I believe Nick has said it on stream before is that while he doesn't agree with Drex's views on women and marriage, he understands where Drex is coming from and respects his views. Those two are good friends from college and it seems Nick cherishes their friendship.

Man this is a damn good stream. I'd totally hire Phil.
This is one of those streams where the guest says he's leaving in a half hour and then Nick shuts up for the most part and keeps the guy there for another two hours.

Jokingly? I'm pretty sure by the middle of the guy's opening arguments Nick was unironically having doubts about whether the guy even did it. His suggestion that the girlfriend was trying to set up a frame job didn't strike me as a joke, entirely. In fact tonight he said that the guy probably had a reasonably interesting defense if he'd actually presented it competently (part of the big challenge of trying to do a case pro se and the reason why it's so incredibly stupid).

And... Drex is 100% right about women, and Nick knows it. He's openly admitted that he'd have no idea where to start if he had to go out and hit the dating market right now. He got extremely lucky.

Drex has never said 100.01% of all women are exactly like the ones he's telling not to do the shit they do. Unless he is literally banging Nick's wife, he has no ethical issue himself either.

Tell me Drex is wrong when he is advising women not to do the shit they do. It's not like he doesn't get his dick wet as often as he likes.

He may be a "misogynist" on some level, but nothing he's offered as advice to them is actually wrong.

I think Drex keeps finding manipulative, bitchy women because he's manipulative and kind of a bastard. Like attracts like. I went to a religiously affiliated college and yeah, some women (and men) were just out to exploit one another, but the vast majority were looking for lasting and mutually beneficial relationships.

Drex's advice and outlook aren't wrong when dealing with a certain kind of woman, but the suggestion that all women are like that frankly does the listening audience a disservice and deserves to be challenged. But that's my take as a moralfag. If people like listening to Drex, whatever, enjoy your snack trays. My point was more that Nick seems to also be a moralfag in his personal life, but has clearly courted a less scrupulous audience and now caters to them. So a year ago, it was 'Please respect my wishes and don't make me do the dead kid joke,' and now its, 'lol this guy is credibly accused of murdering his family but he's spirited so go him.'

But like I said originally, I'm not trying to force anyone to keep the same format. I thought it was an interesting change.

Within the context of knowing that he will 100% be put away after that performance, guilty or not, yeah not exactly a moral failing to cheer the dude on while he's giving the courtroom an unforgettable show, just a bit of black humor.
While having to read "daddy nick" superchats would make me want to pull my eyes out. Every streamer gets chats like this, so at best the joke is done.

If saying daddy was ever actually funny I'm sure he's run it into the ground, just like all the other nsfw jokes that are running gags on the show, but "don't call me daddy because my kids actually call me that" seems like a reasonable request.

The "Daddy nooo!" superchats made Nick uncomfortable for a very specific reason.
