How much does Rackets actually drink? I think that would be the major factor when determining whether he's a lolcow. I would call his show a new and improved version of Internet Blood Sports, the way the Kumite was to Drunken Peasants, Warski Live was to the Kumite, and the Killstream was to Warski live.

He was clearly intending to entrap him, which is in clear violation of basic ethical principles, and was entirely unrepentant for his actions. I used to frequently watch Rackets, because I thought he was funny and overall a wholesome guy, but stopped almost entirely after that stream and his refusal to admit that what he did was scummy. He seems to be going down the rabbit hole of internet tism, and from the albeit limited content I've seen of his his moral standards and professionalism seem to be devolving.

And just to cut off every response that "Donga is a scumbag who deserves getting shit on," no he doesn't, at least not by Nick. Just because someone's a scumbag doesnt mean you need to devolve to their level. Also, I find it quite interesting that Nick was perfectly fine to admit on the Doug Tenapel stream that he entrapped Donga, but not to Donga on his own stream. No; it is very likely that Rekieta will never make a video regarding a case in which he is directly representing one of the participants. In the case of Mignogna, however, he did refer an attorney to him, as well as start the GoFundMe campaign to fund his case.

Is Rekieta really an "alt-right lawyer?"

Rekieta has gained this title by associating with others that have been tarred with the "alt-right" brush, such as appearing on Ethan Ralph's Killstream and covering the case of Richard C. Meyer vs Mark Waid with sympathies to the Meyer side. His actual political inclinations are probably what the kids these days call "basic bitch conservative," and actual alt-righters probably don't approve of his choice in friends (see below).

Why is Rekieta called "the blackface lawyer?"

One of Nick's best and longest friends is a black man named Drexel. Drexel has appeared on a couple of Nick's streams. One time "soon after college," Nick pranked Drexel by dressing up as him by applying skin toner and wearing a fro wig and some of Drexel's clothes (which would have been too large for Nick). A photo of this incident has made its way to the internet.

Rekieta claims that he did this to make fun more of himself, as a scrawny, nerdy white guy, rather than to mock the "black guy cool" Drexel or black people in general, and that he wasn't dressing up as a stereotype of black people; he was dressing up as a stereotype of Drexel. Drexel says he was not offended at the time and isn't offended by it now, but the picture has given plenty of ammunition to Rekieta haters who know more about how black people feel than actual black people.

Nick seems to have a bizarre condition where in he has an allergy-like skin reaction when he gets excited or angry, which occasionally manifests on his stream.

Nick Rekieta graduated from a law school and kept his large family fed by operating his own law firm. Even if he may be making most of his money from YouTube nowadays (which is not certain; superchats have been flooding in on his recent streams, but it's still likely he makes more through the work from his firm), those videos are made with a wealth of experience in both the letter and the actual practice of law (which are often quite different). For as great as you may be, if you are not trained in and have not practiced law, it should be taken for granted that Rekieta knows more about legal matters than you and your search results page, so for God's sake, if Nick is telling you to lawyer up, lawyer up.

I honestly don't understand how, lawyer or not, getting a scumbag to admit they're fucking around, lying, ect, is 'entrapment' OR non-Christianlike? In fact, isn't this the same exact bullshit that Priests use to get people to admit their 'sins', or is that not 'real' Christianity?

Too add, I just re-watched some of his streams. I've not seen him change at all, really. He's pretty consistent, which makes sense being a veteran lawyer and all. The only outliers I've seen being the recent blackface/racism bullshit, but that's really personal, and even more so when these 'not racists' are racist to his best friend (which is where he gets REALLY upset), so lawyer or not you'd be pissed.

So far he's a good dude. Good head on his shoulders, and is doing well for himself and the profession at large. We need more lawyers like him.
