Keep Larping soon or later this Vic stuff going to be over. And you fags are not going to have anything to Larp about anymore.
Plenty of LARPs still out there, champ.

For example, you're LARPing as a functional individual. Have you ever tried Dagorhir or Amtguard? Running around in costumes with foam weapons is infinitely less embarrassing than what you're doing right now.

Is it happening?

I do believe it is.
These are my thoughts after listening to part of the stream.

The first thing that caught my attention was when Rekieta asked Vic if people knew who he was. After all, Rekieta only recognised Vic's voice as the Dragonball character Broly but not Vic himself before the Weeb Wars.

Vic replied to my delight and those familiar with @theralph / @spectreisafaggot that he doesn't go around asking DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM? Guess Ethan Ralph would disagree with Vic's approach there. It left me wondering if that was Rekieta taking a jab at Ralph though to be fair, it was Vic that brought up "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM" first.

Vic Mignogna felt nice. Too nice in fact. It is convincing even when he came close to tears when he pleaded with his audience not to mock and hate his former colleague (whom he claims to have always thought her as a friend before the Weebwars) now enemy Monica Rial. Whether he was being genuine or not, I suppose it is a good move to portray himself like an angel. Just look at how events he attends rakes in money and compare that to Monica's.

I felt that the mask slipped when he goes into things that concern his profession and the industry. His pitch goes lower and he briefly does away with this angelic demeanour. This happened when he scoffed at the suggestion that studios have no influence on the voice actors and emphasising that voice acting is more about acting than coming up with voices. The main takeaway I got is, Vic is an actor so I shouldn't be surprised that he is putting an act for this interview.

There is a superchat saying that Vic is his childhood. While Vic finds it strange that one would say that, I looked up his age. That man is approaching 60 but looks as old as @theralph / @spectreisafaggot!

As for me, they'd have to have been forced into it with equivalent force to that implied in Monica's second account of her alleged assault. As a reminder, in that one, Vic "pushed her onto the bed".

There has to have been a lot of force involved, is what I'm saying.
F = ma, and damn gurl, you got a lotto 'm'...
They might not have a choice.

If it comes back on appeal, and only Funimation settles not the other defendants, discovery can still be carried out on them if it helps the case against the others.
Unless they get a confidentiality agreement. I think Vic and Ty are too 'honourable' to sign a deal and then force them to provide evidence...
Vic should file for bankruptcies so he doesn't have pay for that lawsuit bullshit. And take that 290k for himself. As a fuck you to Nick and ty. And start a studio with that money.
Court judgement are non-dischargeable you numbskull! Otherwise every divorcee would do it!

Pretty much agree. I *know* he has been more honest elsewhere when relaxed, but he has got to keep up the act for the fans that think he is a saint...

Just gonna say that having to be 'perfect' all the time gets old... real f*cking fast... He needs to find a place to be more real...

Lets pretend for just a second that Vic really did do the stuff Monica and Jamie accused him of doing. If and its a VERY VERY BIG IF he really did sexually harass them and funimation did find evidence (surprise there is none) then they are required by law to turn him over to law enforcement.
But they didn’t.
If Vic really is a sexual predator (which he is NOT) and Funimation did not turn him over to the proper authorities that could be considered enabling a sexual predator and thus they would face some criminal charges.

But despite ALL this and even the bullshit patriarchy thing from Dragon maid, it didn’t stop me from watching funimation. It was something else that made me stop.

Is there a portion of the world who wouldn't have changed their minds without a lawsuit?
I think there is, yes. At least, I think it changed the minds of some people who could have been on the fence on the matter. People who are genuinely guilty of sexual assault and almost-rape do not generally invite themselves into a courtroom to discuss the matter, and if the defendants really have all the evidence that Toye claims they do, this could have genuine criminal consequences for Mignogna. So either he's one dumb motherfucker or this shit didn't happen, and I think the latter is more likely at this point. And I don't think I'm alone in following that thread of reasoning.

I want to see this case be successful and set a precedent to an extent that it becomes at least a slightly more dangerous thing to do to falsely accuse someone of sexual assault. There needs to be consequences to people who would do that if for no other reason than it cheapens the accusation when such a thing really does happen. I think to many this case seems like a tempest in the anime teapot but I think it could have far broader significance than that.

Depending on state law, mandatory reporting is generally a thing for cases of child sexual exploitation, and even then sometimes only for people in certain professions such as doctors or techers. I don't think any state requires employers to report one of their employees for mere sexual harassment. But feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

The contracts with the IP holders in Japan is a lot different though. I think the only reason funimation does well is because they are the only game in town. Until there is a competitor or a collapse of the industry there will be no change.

Best thing that could happen is Japan doing the subtitles themselves and cutting out the american VA industry for sub only releases. That would be a significant blow to their capital if the sub only audience could get the product from the source instead of the meddling of a third party.
I think you greatly overestimate how easy it would be to just poach the Japanese IP away from an industry giant like Funimation. If it was that easy, they'd have competition. It's not easy. Not just because the IP is already locked up under contracts, but because Japanese companies are boomers and don't like change. They've always contracted with Funimation. Who the fuck is this new upstart? Not someone they're going to give new contracts to, that's for sure. As far as they're concerned, Funimation is the company that knows how to dub anime for Americans, and that's not changing anytime soon.

You can try to start your own dubbing company but you're not going to be walking onto a level playing field. And even if you could, even in a "fair" bidding war, you couldn't compete; you have to make money, or your startup fails. Funimation doesn't, at least in the short term. It could afford to lose money if necessary to make sure you don't get even a tiny slice of the market. It's owned by Sony and has billions. Sure, that's anticompetitive. But that's the ugly side of doing business.
For example, you're LARPing as a functional individual.
Not very well.
