When playing this I had no idea who the devs are and what their agenda is. I thought the game was supposed to be about stupid teenagers/young adults doing stupid teenager things which is why they tended to be preachy, sexually confused "anarchy good- cop bad, let's get wasted in the woods" type of characters that will eventually grow out of it

I'm not going to lie, I really liked this game and the main reason for that was because they didn't beat you over the head with character's sexuality. It was in the background and not the end all be all of their whole personality. It made them relatable even though their lingo wasn't. I could go on and on, but I'm not going to write a mini essay about all my thoughts about the game.
I knew there was some cringy stuff out there for this game, but I had no idea it had been fully infected by Tumblerinas, flurries, and SJW twitter. It was pretty obvious this guy was on the left, but not yet insanely. Unfortunately, becoming known and interacting with these people will undoubtedly ruin any sequel.
Hopefully, there will be a reviewer I can trust that will give a solid opinion.

I played through it and I unlocked all the gamerscore on the Xbox One for it before I heard anything about the developer and the fan base.
Seriously, there are millions of worse games out there, and I did like the way the story went off the rails near the end. Granted, the reason I liked it may have had something to do with the weed I was smoking while I was playing it. I also liked the art style very much. But if it were not for the bass and the Demontower minigames, I would hesitate to call it a game at all.

God. This guy, Wren Shabe (a.k.a. Alex/Xan/Xander Shabe) is a furfag train wreck. Apparently, he ditched his previous partner’s parent’s funeral and went to a furry convention instead of being by his partner’s side during a difficult time. Shortly after the break-up with said partner, he started to transition and identify as a poly troon all the while drawing cringy *~uwu soft positive trans~* furry fetish porn as well as self-pity comics that rival those of Shmorky’s in patheticness. Not surprised this has a community watch thread. Generally nice fandom, but it attracts furries and exceptional personalities.
I briefly explored a discord related to the game. Not gonna lie, it wasn't THAT bad. There is a large teenage demographic and a lot tumblr-like hugboxing. There were some open conservatives who were tolerated without much fuss. Furries rarely posted lewd art. They got banned if they did. I got yelled at by a mod for encouraging voting because it “enabled capitalism” and there were some people passing around Marxist documents. That's about as weird as it got.
I’ve listened to a couple podcast interviews with Scott Benson. He seems critical of certain aspects capitalism, but not decidedly against it. The extremist interpretations come from the players. The stores and brand names within the game are designed to be comforting landmarks and symbols of the town’s history. This is often ignored.
I think the ability to enjoy this game depends on where you come from. There is a lot of thought and emphasis placed on the setting, relationships and politics of a small town. Scott spends a significant amount of time discussing this.
I found that engaging because I grew up in a similar place. For the same reason I’m thinking about buying it for a friend.

Didn't one of the dev worked on I'm O.K - a murder simulator? Is weird seeing how much society change in almost 15 years.
I did not play the game that much, but my favourite character is Wags (the Navy wolf). He might only wanted to recruit Mae, but he seemed to genuinely want to help Mae with having a direction in life... especially since Mae had problems with college and had to go back to her parents. Playing bass, video games, hanging out with her friends... those fill her time and give her some purpose, but she cannot live on those alone. In fact, Mae seemed to be harsh and dismissive with Wags, who was not even aggressive. (Then again, I am pathetic at reading the atmosphere...)

I also disliked how the game just dumped you into playing a song that you were apparently supposed to know the first time (even though the Autumn Edition let you get used to the controls with the 'Space Dragon' song).

Yeah Zoe's an abuser. She got a ton of shit from random trolls, but legit every personal interaction I've heard or seen out of this chick's life is nothing but her constantly fucking with other people. She's a liar, she's scammed and taken advantage of people, and I know there are so many actual abuse victims too afraid to speak up. Against her, that is.

As much as I'd love for someone behind the making of this game (Or just composing the music?) to turn out to be a scummy sexual predator, Quinn isn't exactly the most reliable of sources.
