The chipmunk vocals kind of remind me of old happy hardcore from the '90s and '00s, a genre I kind of liked, but the vocals were my least favorite part.

It isn't. People just call remixes of other songs to be happy hardcore like "Nightcore" and some people call completely unrelated remixes "Nightcore"
