If you missed the Nintendo World Championships that streamed ahead of E3 2019, then you're in luck. CBS has partnered with television show ELeague to bring the championship series directly to your TV screen later this month.

The Nintendo World Championship series, which streamed on June 8, will air on Sunday, August 25 at 10 AM PT / 12 PM CST / 1 PM ET / 6 PM BST. Two more episodes of the series will broadcast a couple weeks later on September 7 at 11 AM PT / 1 PM CST / 2 PM ET / 7 PM BST and September 14 at 10:30 AM PT / 12:30 PM CST / 1:30 PM ET / 6:30 PM BST.

This year's Nintendo World Championships was comprised of three tentpole Nintendo Switch games: Splatoon 2, Super Mario Maker 2, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Each game consisted of set matches and rules where players compete to be crowned the champion. The full, nearly seven-hour livestream can be viewed on Nintendo's official YouTube channel.

All three titles have received some fairly recent updates. Not long after Dragon Quest's Hero DLC release, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate saw a new patch that significantly changed many of the game's fighters. Super Mario Maker 2's previous 32-level upload limit has been doubled, allowing you to share upwards of 64 levels online instead. Though Splatoon 2 won't get anymore Splatfest's for the foreseeable future, the game's new update introduced a Splatfest option to private battles.

Bringing this year's Nintendo World Championship series to TV isn't the first partnership between CBS and ELeague. The two worked together on a three-part Super Smash. Bros Ultimate Invitational 2018 series, which aired in the same year.

Here's a non-CBS owned article:

CBS is set to air the Nintendo World Championships later this month. The trio of esports tournaments -- in which Super Mario Maker 2, Splatoon 2and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate players duked it out -- will debut on August 25th at 1 PM ET. The network will broadcast two more episodes on September 7th at 2 PM and September 14th at 1:30 PM.

Nintendo teamed up with ELEAGUE for the series. The pair previously worked on the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Invitational 2018, which aired on TBS last November.

The Nintendo World Championships took place just ahead of E3 in June, and the CBS broadcasts are another showcase for esports on a broadcast network -- ABC, for instance, airs Overwatch League matches. Along with events such as the Fortnite World Cup, which attracted millions of viewers to its live streams, the Nintendo World Championships hitting CBS is another sign esports are becoming more mainstream.

Ngl, the idea of a major broadcast network airing esports doesn't sound too bad, especially given that ABC has already aired Overwatch and Fortnite league games.

It'll get banned from TV, last time I checked showing live public castrations on air was a no-no.

I just realized Super Mario Maker 2 is in the list. How does that work? Are people just gonna speedrun set levels or what?
It will probably go over as well as the last Nintendo World Championships: "pro Mario player" gets fucking owned by kaizo romhack playing dark horse who knows how to deal with the most insane and pinpoint hitbox accurate hells of Mario levels and just breezes through like a walk in the park.

Shit is so based and gratifying, it's wonderful.

Ha ha, CBS is trying to feign relevance.
I can imagine all the fogeys flicking on CBS for "The Price is Right" are going to be peeved if this is on in the morning.

CBS are gonna be flooded with calls from Harry S. Plinkett type characters
"Why are you broadcasting games to my TV? I don't own a Nintendo!"

CBS now has a show where you watch people play video games on television?

YTV was doing that almost three decades ago, starting in 1991, with Video and Arcade Top 10!

It slightly predates even Nick Arcade.

The smart business man gets Axe Bodyspray as a sponsor. From what I've heard from other sources Smash Bros tournaments have a consistent issue of competitors either refusing to bathe, change their clothes or both. One participant said the real challenge isn't from the in game fighting but rather trying to concentrate while the guy next to you smells like shit.
