IMO I like the game, it's a fun time waster. I wouldn't play it for any longer than two hours at a time though since it's not one of those kinds of games. Basically you just leisurely explore shit and name things you discover funny and rude names.

Though the hype and anti-hype for the game has been retarded, almost Spore levels. At least it wasn't Spore though.

Waiting for the PC version to drop. I don't know why people were expecting this to be 'the last game they'll ever play', that's a goofy ass thing to expect from any form of media.

Just aimlessly exploring space while I smoke weed is all I want out of this game. I'm looking forward to playing it.

With the bright colors this game sports, that sounds like it'll be a quite a ride.

Is this any good?
If you're into exploring and discovering new stuff and traveling the universe at random, then you're all good. There's a bunch of extra stuff like learning alien languages, you can become a space pirate, and future free patches allow for building bases and space stations...

It's not for everyone, but if its your thing, it's an amazing game.

PC port's completely fucked, from what I'm hearing, ranging from the frame limiter actually making the game run worse to the developers advocating using glitches to bypass other glitches to Total Biscuit aborting a stream despite over twenty thousand people watching him, and on Steam, it's struggling to keep a percentage over 30.

Some how I'm not shocked! I knew this was going to happen because my game on the PS4 already crashed once.

Off topic to another game that was in development hell, anyone wondering if Final Fantasy 15 will defy all expectations and be ok?

Hmm. I'll stick with Elite Dangerous myself.

Yeah, that game has its problems, but it is at least playable, and its ability to be either as zen or as frantic as you want gives it the leg up here. The feeling as you get onto the tail of a bigger ship and explode its reactor. Frenetically trying to stop poo coming out as you try to land your 1100-ton fully decked out Anaconda on a planet with 4.52 surface G's. But also just parking up in an icy ring and admiring the prettiness.

That, and the autismal attention to astronomical details.

No Man's Sky looks a bit less stark and "it is the business of the future to be dangerous" and more pastel colours and Fantasy David Attenborough Sim from the looks of it.

It's alright, I'm enjoying it. It's basically the last stage of Spore if you could get out of the spacecraft and fuck with aliens and mine their planets. The only difference is unlike Spore you can't completely fuck up their climate or destroy their planet with your god-beams.

It's running like shit on my computer but that was expected and mostly my computer's fault. The only real problems I had were with getting fuel for my hyperdrive in the beginning (which I circumvented by using the pre-order ship), and I think the torrential rain on the current planet lags the game so much that every second takes 3.

It's not as though I thought that an indie studio with 4 employees was going to put out a release that wasn't buggy as shit, though.

I've yet to play the game, but it's installed and ready to go. Hopefully the horror stories of the PC version aren't as bad as they sound. My friend was reporting frames going under 30 when he was running shit on low. He does have an oldish graphics card though.

I'll check back in here with my first experience though when I play it later tonight.

How is everyone else finding the game?

I'm on the fence right now, both in getting it and what to get it on. I've been starved for a game which focuses on and rewards exploration and I feel like it'll scratch that itch, and I love sci fi. But given the reviews I'm concerned about gambling my sixty bucks. I'm also unsure whether to buy it on PC or gaystation. Leaning towards console right now though. Given the horror stories about the PC port and the fact my desktop is a little dated by this point. Plus my console setup is comfy as fuck and I feel like that's a better way to play this game.

Might just wait for the price drop; hopefully by that point they'll have ironed out the glitches and added in more features.
