No More GK Streams Until Christmas -

Jay's computer crashed repeatedly trying to run MVM. This isn't unheard of - MVM has vastly higher requirements than regular TF2 due to the huge numbers of enemies and sheer volume of stuff ot keep track of. It seems he's not streaming again until he gets a new compy.

I don't know why I'm surprised considering everything we know about him, but for some silly reason I thought it was unusual that a 22 year old would still be getting extravagant presents for Christmas from his parents.

I asked him to at least try out the standard TF2 CP game but I doubt he did. From what he has said he believes it's a power supply problem, not just him playing TF2. I don't know if he has another computer or some sort of mobile device because he's been responding to me on dA. Hopefully the geek squad can help him.

Yeah, seeing how visibly excited he became when talking about Christmas coming made me "wtf". He acts like he's going to get cash which is weird to me because that was always frowned upon in our family. Maybe he's going to return stuff or straight up ask for super expensive computer parts? I just don't get it. He says his parents aren't well off and have their own money problems but he acts like he's going to make bank when x-mas rolls around. Maybe he doesn't view his family as well off because it isn't sitcom level of rich?

I hope he's planning to buy his family SOME gifts. This will be his first Christmas where he has a job (if he still has it by then). I remember being so stoked for the first Christmas I actually had the money to buy people gifts. It's a good feel and I'm hoping he may discover it. Unlikely but.. you never know.

If the cpu/ram voltage is dropping slightly then yes it can crash actually. This is what underclockers deal with. (trying to run super cool/save power by lowering specs)

Because I've been AFK most of the night. It has nothing to do with the fact that I'm secretly conspiring to make Jay's streams marginally better by giving him advice on how to adjust TF2's settings or anything. Really.

You're going to question him with his Geek Squad job and A+ certification? Do you work for Geek Squad? Don't you know that they're the best of the best and only hire those that are superior in terms of their computer analyst skills and precious A+ certifications? Why he's a God compared to us mere mortals, able to diagnose a power supply problem just by looking at the PC. I mean what else can it be? I mean it's not like his CPU is being stressed by trying to run MVM on a lower end Celeron processor and he probably doesn't have the proper amount of RAM for either the compy or the graphics card assuming it's not onboard.

I mean that would just be silly. It's got to be the power supply problem as it only happens when he plays MVM. Nope. Nothing else could explain it.
