While it's true that most works of fiction take inspiration from something else, there's a difference between that and just plain ripping something off. For example, Gravity Falls is heavily inspired by Twin Peaks, but it's not like Alex Hirsch watched Twin Peaks and thought, "Oh, I know! I'll take this show and make it better, because I'm a creative genius!", like Enter did with Flip-Flopped, and the countless plots and characters he ripped off from other shows.Not really, on some level, everything is a copy of something.
