I think it's a case of Lindsay's passive aggressive attitude finally biting her in the ass. It was fine when she did to J.K. Rowling, Sargon of Akkad, and Doug Walker because they have the wrong political beliefs or was cancelled by allegations. By doing that squinting comment, it pissed people off and caused her to leave twitter for a while. She's not changing one bit by this experience so we'll see what's going to get her to be cancelled.
One thing though, isn't that all through her YouTube career? Or at least, her main channel that's on life support at this point?
Her channel isn't on life support as no one has unsubscribed and she has more patrons now than she did before this whole situation occured. There's a big drop off in views this month according to socialblade, but that's most likely because she hasn't put out a video in about 2 months. Lindsay is fine for now, but next time that will be fascinating to see what happens.
It won't be the first time such an idea has been brought up. SW fans have long accused Disney of using paid shills to harass, bully, denounce and even censor those who have bad opinions about Disney Star Wars. Kind of like how the Soviets supported leftism in the colleges and Hollywood, or how North Vietnam supported the supposedly "grassroots" movement of the Viet Cong, only to admit that they were the real force behind the movement once South Vietnam fell. (Media talking heads pretended that the Viet Cong were a purely South Vietnamese movement tired of the pro-American regime there, they were humiliated when North Vietnam admitted that the Viet Cong were their army all along.)

Exactly. A lot of these folks already have the whole "wrongthink" ideology down, but most of the fluff degrees they got from college get them no work. So why not accept corporate money to protect corporate SJW stuff? You're standing by your "values" and getting paid for it. Most of these chumps live either under their parents' roof or hand-to-mouth, and the latter also have crushing student loan debts. Corporate money given freely to you for defending SJW slop is practically a Godsend at that point.
If only they had the awareness that's what they're doing. Knowing that's the game at least gives them some agency. But seeing the twitter mobs completely baffled by stuff like the superstraight meme makes it is clear that they do not. This is what annoys me about Lindsey. She clearly does know the game, but uses that knowledge so poorly.
That's because Lindsay is still a true believer. She still hasn't accepted how cynical modern virtue-signal politics are, and how shallow it truly is. The former counted as leftists when put up against the monarchs, nobles, and religious leaders, but when the socialists showed up, the bourgeoisie capitalists suddenly became the right-wingers, lumped alongside the religious leaders, the nobles, and the kings, even though just a few generations ago, they were the leftist heathens going up against the divinely-ordained system of monarchs under God.
