Nov. 2 - Extra Life Marathon -

With all the new fail coming in through Chris' facebook, it may have been easy forget but tomorrow (Nov. 2) Chris has raised over $200 to participate in the Extra-Life gaming marathon.

Do you think Chris is going to make good on his part and play 25 hours straight of gaming? What games do you think he should play / will play? Also, is there any way to keep tabs on him via is PSN account?

Yeah, I'm not exactly sure either. Unless he really is awesome and gets a Twitch TV account or something so we can watch him, the only thing I know is keep tabs on him through his PSN account. And even then, I don't know where we can find like hour-to-hour details.

One thing though that pisses me off is looking at how any games he's bought and hasn't even played on this. I mean shit, Chris has frickin' Hotline Miami and Virtue's Last Reward lsted here... like hell he'd actual even play them. He's also got titles like BlazBlue which give you achievements/trophies for just watching cutscenes and he hasn't even done that...

He probably just bought VLR because he saw a picture of Alice, then turned it off when all these words started showing up onscreen.
Looking through his list though, you can really tell how his mind is finally ing its last. He hasn't even finished Sonic Adventure 2, when formerly he would 100% everything vaguely Sonic-related.

Personally, I wish somehow he would be forced to play the full 25 hours of vidya, like the old saw about forcing your kid to smoke the whole pack of cigarettes when you catch him smoking behind the bowling alley.

I was on record as supporting the marathon. It seemed a good way for Chris to use his otherwise useless skills and abilities for good.

I was on record as saying that I was ok with him benefiting from it by getting free stuff, even if he sold it. I thought he had legitimately earned them.

I was on record as saying I thought he earnestly planned to do it, and I hoped he had his biological clock and his mother in order so he could.

Now it seems almost inconceivable to me that he will do it. I am pretty confident that he will just say he is too depressed. I have now flipped entirely on the issue, and am pissed off at him in advance. Not for his failure, but for what I assume will be a complete lack of effort.

On the other hand, if he does 25 hours at this point, and it is somehow verifiable (I know nothing about vidya or PSN), I will legitimately be pleasantly surprised by Chris. That hasn't ever happened.

Yes. The fundrasier works on the honor system, if you signed up to play for 25 hours they assume you will "for the kids". The fundraiser itself is just a way to be lazy and feel like you did charity work, for the person playing that is. It's likely Chris will take the even lazier route and just sell the prizes and ignore the charity. The real benefit was from the donors.

you know I was actually doing some critical thinking, and I actually think if Chris put effort into this, he couldd increase the chances of landing a job. this sounds crazy and far fetched but bear with me here.

if Chris for to make blueprints of say a little big planet level and the mod nation racer track using whatever art tool, it woumd showcase his cadd degree. After that he can set up a twitch stream. then he can go about spending 24 hours designing both levels respectively one then the other explaining in details what he whats doing and informing his audience on tips and tricks on how he was making the levels, while maybe throwing a joke here and there. After he say finished designing a little big planet level, he then could be streaming how he was working on my nation racers level doing the same thing by informing his audience on how he could do they same thing while throwing a jokevhere and there.

these would show not also he could design levels, but it would make use of his CAD degree, while showing he's involved in charity, and that he can be informative, thus increasing his chances Of finding work.

the problem is is that this will never happen to the simple fact that Chris doesn't put effort into anything. in my experience diligence has almost always outdone ingenuity (though it's good to have ingenuity as well). OPL could be on the genius level that Mozart was with music, but he still be worried is today cuz the fact that he doesn't do anything but play vidya
