As a kid did you ever just become completely obsessed with something? I know a lot of people have. It's just a part of childhood. Through the years, our interests and obsessions change, but most of us have one that we remember more than any of the other things. Whether it was an obsession with Pokemon, rocks and minerals, weed or Harry Potter, what are your obsession stories? When was it the worst?

I used to be obsessed with honeypots. I don't know if it was something about their appearance or their contents. All I know is now faggots online are using them to out degenerates. Now I remember why I was obsessed with honeypots.

There's been a lot of things I've been obsessed with, mainly in the realm of fiction. It's a good way to distance myself from the real world if I need to take a breather from reality.

I've always been pretty into Pokemon; I own a lot of merch, a good majority of the games, and it's been a staple of my life since I was a child. Feel free to call this cheesy, but I'm not sure what kind of person I'd be without it. It's always been there for me when I needed it.

Like most kids, I had a phase where I enjoyed dinosaurs & rocks - shit, dinosaurs are still cool. There was this one book at my elementary school's library that was a giant guide to types of rocks that I would continually re-visit. Even if I knew all of this stuff, it was just interesting.

A more recent obsession (aka it started in like 2015) is idol (& to an extent, magical girl) anime. Initially, I got into them because of the outfit designs (I like pretty outfits lol) but have found a way to appreciate the other aspects - the songs & dances, mainly - that goes into them. It was a small glimmer of light in an otherwise dark time - it gave me something to occupy my mind with if I needed to get out of a bad situation.

I really obsessed with the simpsons, but the strange thing was I actually watched the show growing up after it turned to shit and I thought pretty good stuff.
Hell, I even got to watch the movie the same day it released.

Back in 2014, I was pretty much hooked on the Five Nights at Freddy’s games. After I saw MatPat’s theory on the first game, I was pretty interested about the lore and backstory of that haunted pizzeria. And when I heard about a second game coming out, I was absolutely stoked to see some more lore, theories, and gameplay by others. Looking back now, I can only see myself as a cringey young kid who was for some reason fascinated by chuck e cheese robots and dead children. But at least the fandom got quite a lot of laughs out of me, I had a lot of good times being in that fandom, even though it was pretty much cancerous at its time.

I never bought into the "Simpsons was good until specific season" hype, it's an argument so steeped in nostalgia. I haven't watched it in years but that's more of my circumstances than the show being low quality.


In High School I was obsessed with Dungeons & Dragons. I played with a small group but I was way more into the mechanics. I'd design a world with cities, demographics, exports, detailed NPCs, all the useless bullshit that would never directly impact a D&D group.


Recently, I've been obsessed with the unconventional coming of age anime (Evangelion, FLCL, Kill La Kill, etc...)
